A Symbol of Unification asks you to do something simple in theory: retrieve a flag and raise it where everyone can see it. Yet ARC Raiders rarely treats even the smallest tasks as a walk in the park, and this quest rewards players who navigate its routes with care and purpose. What feels like a quiet gesture of unity becomes a brief but memorable journey through contested territory, and knowing the terrain makes all the difference.

What ‘A Symbol of Unification’ Wants From You

The quest arrives through Celeste, who hints at the symbolism behind the old Raider flag and encourages you to raise it where it might spark a sense of shared purpose. To complete it, you only need to do three things:

  • Reach Formical Outpost in Dam Battlegrounds
  • Retrieve the flag inside the outpost
  • Hoist it on the designated flagpole overlooking Red Lake

It plays out quickly once you reach the outpost, but reaching it safely often proves the real challenge.

Reaching Formical Outpost

Formical Outpost sits on the southernmost hill of the Dam Battlegrounds map. The ascent feels exposed in several spots, and players often cross nearby areas for farming runs. Bring a loadout you can risk and travel with enough caution to avoid unnecessary skirmishes.

Follow the slope toward the hilltop until you see the battered structure that marks the outpost. Its view of Red Lake confirms you are in the right place.

Where to Find the Flag

Inside the outpost, step through the entrance and look to your right. A medical bed rests against the wall. On it sits a worn backpack that holds the Raider Flag. Interact with the bag and add the flag to your inventory.

At this point you have everything you need, so resist the temptation to linger. Other players patrol the area often, and losing the flag means repeating the whole approach.

How to Raise the Flag and Complete the Quest

Exit toward the back of the outpost and step onto the small outdoor platform that faces Red Lake. The flagpole stands there in the open. Interact with it to raise the banner and complete A Symbol of Unification.

The quest finishes immediately after the interaction, so you are free to extract or continue looting the nearby structures. Red Lakes Balcony lift to the northeast usually serves as the closest extraction point, but watch for campers who wait for raiders to arrive.

Helpful Tips for a Safe Run

A little preparation smooths the entire experience:

  • Pick a route that avoids predictable choke points
  • Use free or low-risk gear in case you run into hostile players
  • Clear the immediate area around the outpost before grabbing the flag
  • Hoist the flag quickly and leave if the area grows noisy

With steady pacing, the quest feels less like a scramble and more like a quiet moment of story progression in a world that rarely slows down.

Rewards for Finishing A Symbol of Unification

Completing the quest earns you:

  • Aviator Outfit in Dusted Cream
  • Mod Components
  • Duct Tape
  • Progression in Celeste’s questline

It also unlocks the next story beats tied to Celeste’s perspective on unity and survival.
