Snow hushes the ridge, and a note asks you to leave regrets with blue petals. This tale is small and gentle, a quiet detour in Tokachi Range that asks you to climb, gather, and return. Below is a clear, step by step walkthrough for A Flower for Your Thoughts, rewritten to match the in-game facts you gave me so you can finish the side tale without fuss.

Where to Begin?

Head northwest from the Ohara Plains until you reach the valley that holds the Amber Respite Shrine. At the shrine entrance, you will see an empty bowl and a note tied to a tree. Read the note to accept the side tale. The note asks you to leave blue flowers of forgiveness in the basket at the shrine entrance.

How to Reach the Flower Area?

Climb up the shrine path to the top of Amber Respite Shrine. Once at the peak, look for the slideable section of rock. From the top, you will take a left and slide down the slope. The slide drops you into a basin with a pond and at least one waterfall. Stay in this pond area until you collect all three blue flowers.

Where the Three Blue Flowers Grow?

All three flowers are found around the pond beneath the Amber Respite Shrine. From the place where you land after the slide, do the following.

  • Blue Flower 1 — Immediately to the left from the rock slide. You will find this Hydrangea tucked between two trees among the autumn leaves.
  • Blue Flower 2 — Immediately to the right from the rock slide. Swim to the waterfall and follow the rock path at the waterline. The flower sits on a ledge just before the stream.
  • Blue Flower 3 — From the slide, head forward and follow the stream a short distance. The third Hydrangea grows in the grass to the left along the waterway.

Collect each Hydrangea by interacting with it. They are the same blue flowers used elsewhere in the game, so they look familiar if you have been unlocking dye patterns for Atsu.

Returning the Flowers

After you have all three, climb back toward the shrine entrance. There is a wooden plank hanging from a rock ledge near the path. Mantle that plank and drop down to reach the lower approach, then swim or walk back to the shrine entrance where you first read the note. Interact with the basket or the settler by the bowl to place the flowers and complete the tale.

Reward

Completing this side tale grants the Charm of Lingering Affliction. It functions as a minor utility charm that enhances harmful status effects on enemies. Expect status ailments inflicted on foes to linger somewhat longer and to deal additional damage while the charm is active.

Quick Tips

  • Pray at the altar while you are at the shrine if you want the shrine count to register.
  • Stay in the pond area after sliding. It is easy to miss one of the Hydrangeas if you run off too quickly.
  • The torii gates and fox markers along the route help guide you to the shrine.
  • If you struggle with the drop back down, look for the wooden plank near the rock face. It is the intended safe route to the lower area.
