On June 4, 2026, RBW officially confirmed that SECRET is preparing for a comeback, marking the group’s first activities since the release of their mini-album Secret Summer in 2014. Who Is and Isn’t Returning

Jun Hyoseong and Jung Hana (formerly known as Zinger) will lead the reunion project. As of 2026, Hyoseong has built a career as an actress, radio DJ, and entertainer, while Hana has continued acting and personal activities.

However, two original members will not be part of the comeback. Han Sunhwa left the group in 2016 and has since focused entirely on her acting career. Song Jieun, widely recognised as the group’s main vocalist, is currently not pursuing music activities and has been focused on her married life. Her absence in particular has drawn the most attention from fans, given how central her vocals were to SECRET’s identity during their peak years.

The third spot in the new lineup will go to a newly recruited member, whose identity RBW has not yet revealed. Details are expected to follow in subsequent announcements.

SECRET debuted in 2009 as a four-member girl group and became one of the most representative acts of the second generation of K-pop. The original lineup consisted of Jun Hyoseong, Jung Hana, Song Jieun, and Han Sunhwa.

The announcement sparked an immediate and wide-ranging response across social media and fan communities. The reaction split broadly into two camps.

Those who expressed concern or disappointment pointed to the absence of Song Jieun’s vocals as a significant loss, with comments such as “They should’ve just formed a unit instead” and “Why add a new member when it’s supposed to be a reunion?” Many fans also questioned the decision to add an entirely new member to what is being framed as a reunion.

However, a strong contingent of supportive fans welcomed the news despite the changes.
