Meteorite Surface Patches
Meteorites can also carry Calcium. Look for flat, chalky spots that stand apart from the metallic shine of other ores. These patches resemble dull white plaster. They help if you want to check meteorites along your route, but again, they do not provide enough quantity for midgame upgrades.
Calcium Ore Deposits
The real deposits look nothing like the other two sources. You will spot cream colored ground that rises slightly, sometimes dotted with shallow puddles. The surface looks softened, almost like sediment baked under a harsh sun. These formations supply the volume you actually need, and once you find one, you never confuse it with anything else.
Where to Find Calcium Deposits?
You do not need to explore every corner of Arcadia. The game places two key deposit regions close enough to your starting zone that a direct walk leads you to them.
- Move north from your orbital lander and continue straight until the terrain brightens into a pale, creamy patch.
- Head east or northeast for the second region. If you upgraded your map, the deposits show up as sandy clusters that stand out clearly.

Why You Need So Much Calcium?

The most important verified requirement is the 1,000 Calcium Ore needed to unlock the Smelter Calcium Block upgrade at the Recipe Station. After that, the game asks for even more Calcium so you can craft Calcite Sheets and Calcite Blocks, which support your advancement with the Moon Energy corporation and several later crafting branches.
Calcium gives you the foundation for later automation, structural expansion, and higher tier material creation. Without a steady supply, the game slows to a crawl.
How to Build a Reliable Calcium Base
Because Calcium deposits sit far from your first outpost, you need a new base near the veins. This second base lets you extract ore continuously without hauling heavy loads across the map.

Here is the most dependable setup:
- Break a large meteorite to obtain its Heart, then craft a Base Core.
- Place the Base Core near the Calcium shelf so the structures can draw power.
- Surround the core with solar panels or another power source.
- Build an Ore Excavator directly on the Calcium deposit.
- Lay rails to route the ore into a Storage Depot, Smelter, Fabricator, or Orbital Cargo Launcher.
Once the system runs, the Excavator provides a constant stream of Calcium that feeds your production chain without interruption. You no longer need to act as your own courier.
