The Lamb facing the final boss Narinder, known as The One Who Waits, at the start of the battle.

Defeating Narinder, also known as The One Who Waits, marks the true culmination of Cult of the Lamb. This encounter tests everything you have learned about movement, restraint, and reading chaotic patterns. Narinder does not fall because of brute force alone. You defeat him by staying composed while the fight constantly tries to overwhelm you.

This guide focuses on understanding the fight rather than memorizing patterns. If you grasp why Narinder behaves the way he does, the battle becomes demanding but fair.

Narinder Boss Battle

Narinder’s boss battle removes many comforts you rely on during crusades. You cannot use tarot cards, demons, or alternate fleeces. Your dodge roll offers fewer invincibility frames, which punishes careless movement. The arena is large, open, and designed to make distance management difficult.

This fight rewards patience over aggression. You will win by choosing when not to attack as much as when to strike.

Phase One: The One Who Waits

Narinder begins the fight chained and distant. He rarely uses melee attacks and prefers to pressure you with projectiles and ground hazards.

Key Survival Principles

  • Close distance during attacks, not after them
  • Roll with intention rather than reflex
  • Attack briefly, then disengage

Narinder teleports constantly and gains invulnerability at the start of each teleport. If you chase him blindly, you waste time and expose yourself to damage.

Attacks to Watch Closely

  • Chain patterns erupt from the ground in lines, spirals, or scattered bursts
  • Fireball formations appear as circles, swirls, or accelerating rings

The safest openings appear after linear chain attacks. These give you enough time to approach and deal damage before he vanishes again.

At half health, Narinder enters a damaged state. He attacks faster, spawns more cultist enemies, and leaves fewer safe windows. Stay calm. Clear summoned enemies quickly and keep your focus on positioning.

Phase Two: The Eyes of Narinder

Once the chains shatter, Narinder reveals his eldritch form. His body becomes untouchable as three massive eyes detach and descend into the arena.

This phase shifts the fight from distance management to spatial awareness.

Core Strategy for the Eye Phase

  • Always track eye positioning before attacking
  • Damage any eye you can reach safely
  • Expect overlapping attacks as the phase progresses

The eyes fire dense projectile patterns but lack invincibility frames. You can hit them at any time, even while they attack. This gives you more control than it first appears.

Three Eyes Phase

All three eyes attack simultaneously with slower projectiles. Use this moment to learn their rhythm. Deal steady damage and avoid greed. Narinder himself remains inactive here.

When each eye takes enough damage, it retreats temporarily. Once all hide, they return.

Two Eyes Phase

One eye shatters, and Narinder joins the fight. Projectile speed increases, and attacks begin to overlap.

At this stage:

  • Stay near open spaces
  • Avoid rolling excessively
  • Walk through slower patterns when possible

Narinder introduces sweeping fireball beams and chain attacks. These look threatening but contain safe lanes if you stay composed.

One Eye Phase

The final eye moves fast and attacks relentlessly. Narinder gains additional accelerating fireball patterns designed to punish hesitation.

This phase demands discipline. You must resist the urge to panic roll. Save your dodge for moments when movement alone cannot save you. If you use Bleat, reserve it for the fastest ring attacks where timing becomes unforgiving.

Choosing Narinder’s Fate

After victory, the game presents a choice: kill Narinder or spare him.

  • Kill grants a trophy and closes his story
  • Spare turns him into an immortal follower with unique dialogue and quests

Neither option affects your achievement for defeating him. Choose based on the narrative you want your Lamb to embody.

Final Advice for the Battle

  • Prioritize survival over damage
  • Learn which attacks you can walk through
  • Accept that randomness exists and adapt instead of forcing control

Narinder does not demand perfection. He demands awareness. When you stop fighting the chaos and start reading it, the final god falls.
