Riot Games has confirmed that 2XKO, the long-awaited League of Legends-based tag fighter, will launch in Early Access for PC on October 7, 2025. The announcement comes after a brief closed beta, marking the game’s first major step toward full release.
Early Access Launch and Season 0
The Early Access rollout signals the beginning of Season 0, introducing new features such as combo trials, ranked play, and a battle pass system. Riot also confirmed that all progress—including unlocked champions, skins, and mastery rewards—will carry over into the full version of the game.
Players can also expect the debut of the title’s 10th champion on launch day, though Riot has yet to officially reveal who will join the roster. Currently, confirmed champions include Ahri, Blitzcrank, Braum, Darius, Ekko, Illaoi, Jinx, Vi, and Yasuo.
Looking ahead, Riot outlined its seasonal roadmap: five content seasons throughout 2026, each delivering a new champion, fresh cosmetics, and gameplay updates.
Competitive Support Through “First Impact”
Alongside the Early Access announcement, Riot introduced First Impact, a sponsorship program for community-led tournaments. Through the remainder of 2025, the studio will provide financial backing for 22 grassroots events across North America, Europe, and Asia.
Each sponsored tournament will include a Riot-funded prize pool bonus. Additionally, duos who claim first place will earn a special “Duo Bounty” prize of $2,500, as well as the exclusive “Local Legend” player title for their 2XKO accounts.
The program begins with Evo France: 2 NICE KO, organized by The MIXUP Crew in Nice, France, from October 10–12.
A Step Toward the Global Stage
While 2XKO is currently PC-only, Riot has confirmed that a full release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S is planned for the future, though no date has been announced.
Executive producer Tom Cannon described the Early Access launch as “the start of the next chapter for 2XKO,” thanking closed beta participants for their feedback and promising more content to come.
With nearly six years of development and growing grassroots support, 2XKO is positioning itself as both a casual-friendly fighter and a potential new staple of the competitive fighting game circuit.
