Silent Hill: Townfall All 5 Endings Guide: How to Unlock Justice, Forever, Abandoned, Dog and Sci-fi-lent Hill

Silent Hill: Townfall has five different endings, and getting all of them is less about picking the “right” dialogue option at the end and more about how you actually play through the game.

Three endings — Justice, Forever, and Abandoned — are available during a normal playthrough. Their outcomes are tied to a hidden ending score that quietly changes according to several actions throughout the story.

Then there are two secret New Game+ endings: Dog and Sci-fi-lent Hill. These work differently. Instead of manipulating the main ending score, you need to find specific hidden items and interact with them correctly.

So, if you’re going for the full five-ending experience, don’t rush into that final sequence thinking one last dialogue choice will save the run. Townfall has already been keeping track of what you’ve been doing.

Warning: Major story spoilers ahead. This guide covers ending requirements, late-game areas, hidden items, puzzles, and broad ending outcomes.

Silent Hill: Townfall endings explained

Here is the quickest breakdown of all five endings:

EndingFirst PlaythroughNew Game+Main Requirement
JusticeYesNoFinish with a strongly positive hidden ending score
ForeverYesNoFinish within the middle range of the hidden ending score
AbandonedYesNoFinish with a negative hidden ending score
DogNoYesFind three Coins and place them in the three Guide Dog banks
Sci-fi-lent HillNoYesFind three Strange Books, obtain the Strange Access Card, and use it at the end

The first three endings are governed by a hidden point system. Current testing identifies several major contributors:

  • Clues and Documents, collectively referred to as Discoveries, add positive points.
  • Enemies killed as Simon reduce the score.
  • Cannula Refills reduce the score further.
  • Certain mistakes made while playing as Zoe in Chapter 7: The Patient can reduce the score.
  • Kills made while controlling Zoe or Richard do not affect the hidden score in the same way as Simon’s kills.
  • Dialogue choices, total playtime, and healing-item use have not been identified as direct contributors to the main ending score.

The exact internal formula is never shown to players. That means numerical targets circulating among players should be treated as practical testing results rather than official in-game rules.

Multiple endings, one save file: If juggling hidden scores and secret unlocks sounds familiar, another game asks for that same kind of attention to detail from start to finish. Read our guide Big Walk All Endings Guide: How to Unlock the True Ending, White Key, and Big Game Achievement.

How Justice, Forever and Abandoned are decided

The big thing to remember is that Townfall does not simply ask you to choose Justice, Forever, or Abandoned during the finale.

Your actions throughout the game build a hidden score.

Current testing places the three main endings in these ranges:

  • More than 20 points: Justice
  • 0 to 19 points: Forever
  • Below 0 points: Abandoned

That makes exploration, combat and certain mistakes surprisingly important.

Discoveries push your score upward

Clues and Documents contribute positive points to your ending score.

If you’re trying to reach Justice, exploring St. Amelia properly is therefore important. Check rooms, investigate suspicious areas and pick up the Discoveries you encounter instead of sprinting straight through the story.

One important distinction: not every collectible in Townfall counts as a Discovery. The ending system specifically treats Clues and Documents as the relevant positive category.

Simon’s kills work against you

Enemies defeated while playing as Simon negatively affect the ending score.

That doesn’t mean you have to play the entire game without fighting. It does mean that an extremely aggressive Simon run can push your final result toward Abandoned.

Also, don’t look at your final kill statistics and assume every kill has identical importance. Zoe and Richard’s kills do not contribute to the hidden ending score in the same way Simon’s kills do.

Cannula Refills are another penalty

Cannula Refills also push the score downward.

A refill after Simon becomes incapacitated carries a larger penalty than an ordinary Simon enemy defeat, making Cannula Refills especially important for anyone chasing Justice.

Zoe’s Chapter 7 mistakes matter

Your performance during Chapter 7: The Patient can also affect the result.

Certain mistakes that damage Zoe during the relevant puzzles reduce the ending score. If you’re aiming for Justice, pay close attention during this section rather than treating the puzzles as something to rush through.

Not every finale plays it straight: Some games hide their best outcomes behind choices you might not even realize matter until the credits roll. Check our post on Splatoon Raiders All Endings Explained: How to Unlock Every Ending (Good, Bad, Secret & Post-Credits).

How to Get the Justice Ending in Silent Hill: Townfall

The Justice ending requires a final hidden score of more than 20 points.

The safest strategy is to build a strongly positive run through exploration while limiting the actions that pull your score downward.

Justice strategy

  1. Collect as many Clues and Documents as possible.
  2. Avoid unnecessary enemy encounters while playing as Simon.
  3. Avoid Cannula Refills whenever possible.
  4. Take care during Zoe’s Chapter 7 puzzle sequence.
  5. Keep searching for Discoveries in the later sections.
  6. Consider creating a manual save before the late-game ending sequence.

You don’t need to become obsessed with calculating a perfect Discoveries-to-kills ratio. The hidden system has multiple contributors, so simply comparing those two statistics doesn’t necessarily reveal your complete ending state.

Justice ending trophy

Reaching Justice unlocks the “For St. Amelia” trophy/achievement.

The ending sees Simon allow the town to deal with Richard rather than personally taking responsibility for the final act of vengeance.

How to Get the Forever Ending

Forever sits in the middle of the three main outcomes.

Current testing places its required final hidden score at 0 through 19 points.

That’s also what makes Forever a little awkward to target. You aren’t trying to build the biggest possible positive score, but you also don’t want your actions to push the total below zero.

Forever strategy

A practical approach is to:

  1. Collect a reasonable number of Clues and Documents.
  2. Don’t make your Simon playthrough completely passive.
  3. Avoid building an extremely positive score.
  4. Avoid pushing the score below zero.
  5. Be careful with Cannula Refills because they carry a significant negative penalty.
  6. Handle Zoe’s Chapter 7 puzzles carefully.
  7. Keep a late-game manual save so you can make adjustments if necessary.

Because the game doesn’t give you a visible ending-score meter, Forever is better approached with a backup save than with a rigid numerical checklist.

Player testing has produced different combinations that reach this ending, so an exact Discoveries-versus-kills formula should not be treated as an official rule.

Forever ending trophy

The Forever ending unlocks the “Here To Stay” trophy/achievement.

How to Get the Abandoned Ending

If your hidden ending score falls below zero, you’ll receive Abandoned.

This is the easiest main ending to pursue if you’re playing aggressively and aren’t interested in collecting every optional Discovery.

Abandoned strategy

  1. Don’t prioritize optional Clues and Documents.
  2. Remember that Simon’s combat actions negatively affect the ending score.
  3. Don’t build a large positive Discovery total.
  4. Don’t worry about maintaining the careful balance required for Forever.
  5. Continue until your hidden score has been pushed sufficiently into negative territory.

There is no special dialogue route you need to select at the finale.

By that point, the game has already calculated the relevant outcome from your earlier actions.

Abandoned ending trophy

The Abandoned ending unlocks “Just Making Things Worse.”

New Game+ Unlocks the Two Secret Endings

Once you’ve completed the story, you can begin New Game+.

This is essential for the two secret endings because Dog and Sci-fi-lent Hill are New Game+ exclusive.

Their requirements are completely different from the normal hidden-score system:

  • Dog: Find three Coins and put them into three Guide Dog banks.
  • Sci-fi-lent Hill: Find three Strange Books, obtain the Strange Access Card and use it during the final section.

These secret endings override the ordinary ending when their requirements have been completed.

So yes, you can prepare for these two endings during New Game+ without simply trying to manipulate your Justice, Forever or Abandoned score.

How to Get the Dog Ending

The Dog ending requires three Coins:

  • Bronze Coin
  • Silver Coin
  • Gold Coin

Each Coin has to be placed into its corresponding Guide Dogs for the Blind bank.

Bronze Coin location

Part 1: Arrival — Chapter 1: Cold Open

Head to the Video Star store in the Shorefront District South.

Enter the small back room and inspect the shelf. The Bronze Coin is there.

After collecting it, return to Main Street.

Near the Pharmacy, you’ll find a Guide Dogs for the Blind bank.

Interact with it and place the Bronze Coin inside.

That’s your first Dog-ending step completed.

Silver Coin location

Part 4: Clara Woods — Chapter 9: Begin Again

After entering Clara Woods, continue up the street until you reach the intersection.

Go right toward the backyard area associated with the Strange Postcard location from the first playthrough.

Search the backyard for the shelf containing the Silver Coin.

Pick it up, then continue through the story until you obtain the Boltcutters.

Where to put the Silver Coin

Part 4: Clara Woods — Chapter 10: Missing Parts

Once you have the Boltcutters, return to the relevant area near the post service building.

Use the newly available route to reach the laundromat.

Inside, you’ll find another Guide Dog bank.

Place the Silver Coin inside.

At this point, two of the three required Coins have been deposited.

Gold Coin location

Part 6: Simon — Chapter 15: Trying Again

During the late-game section involving the valve-door puzzles, you’ll have an opportunity to open Door 793.

Open the door and enter the corresponding lower-area room.

The Gold Coin is sitting on the console inside.

Collect it before continuing.

Where to put the Gold Coin

Continue through Part 6 until you’ve progressed far enough through the late-game area to reach the section with the red-lit paths.

At the relevant four-way junction, continue to the end of the corridor.

The final Guide Dog bank will be available there once the previous Coins have been deposited.

Place the Gold Coin inside.

With all three Coins deposited, finish the game normally.

The Dog ending will replace the standard ending sequence.

Dog ending trophy

Completing the Dog route unlocks the “Let’s Talk This Out” trophy/achievement.

How to Get the Sci-fi-lent Hill Ending

The second secret ending is Sci-fi-lent Hill.

For this route, you’ll need:

  • Strange Book 1
  • Strange Access Card
  • Strange Book 2
  • Strange Book 3

You need to interact with all three Strange Books before using the Strange Access Card during the final section.

The order is important because you need to obtain the card and then complete the remaining book interactions before activating the final route.

Strange Book 1 location

Part 1: Arrival — Chapter 3: A Connection

Go inside Zoe’s House.

Enter the bedroom and inspect the area beside the bed.

You’ll find Strange Book 1, identified as:

History of Space Flight, 1952–1992

Interact with the book.

How to get the Strange Access Card

Part 2: Zoe — Chapter 6: Journey to Medical

Progress through the relevant section and enter the hotel.

Head upstairs.

You’ll find a door covered with buttons displaying different symbols.

The puzzle’s clues are connected to the Strange Postcards.

If you already know the solution, enter the symbols in this order:

  1. Bird
  2. Tree
  3. Planet
  4. Bird
  5. Triquetra
  6. Satellite
  7. Satellite
  8. Fish
  9. Rocket
  10. Planet
  11. Dog
  12. Pillar

If you’re using the button positions instead, enter:

21, 17, 9, 21, 12, 24, 24, 5, 3, 9, 1, 14

The buttons are numbered left to right, then top to bottom.

Make a mistake? Don’t panic. The sequence resets, allowing you to start again.

Once the door opens, enter the room and collect the Strange Access Card.

Strange Book 2 location

Part 4: Clara Woods — Chapter 10: Missing Parts

After the relevant phone conversation with Richard, enter the store on the southwest side of Atlas Square.

Look toward the left side of the store after entering.

You’ll find Strange Book 2 on a shelf.

Interact with it.

The book is identified as:

Freeze Me / Wake Me – Elias Fisher

Strange Book 3 location

Part 6: Simon — Chapter 15: Trying Again

Return to the late-game section involving the valve-door puzzle.

This time, you’ll have an opportunity to open Door 621.

Open it and enter the corresponding room.

Look for the table beside the Resource Container.

That’s where you’ll find Strange Book 3.

The book is identified as:

A Map of Nowhere Else – The Future of Interstellar Travel

Interact with it.

At this point, you should have interacted with all three Strange Books and have the Strange Access Card in your possession.

Where to Use the Strange Access Card

Now continue toward the final section.

Near the end, before the doorway leading into the scene involving Simon’s IV, look to the left of the doorway.

You’ll find a keypad/card reader.

Use the Strange Access Card there.

Proceed through the next sequence and the Sci-fi-lent Hill ending will trigger instead of the standard finale.

Unlike the Dog route, you do not continue through the ordinary final ending sequence once the Sci-fi route has successfully activated.

Sci-fi-lent Hill trophy

Completing the route unlocks the “Sci-fi-lent Hill” trophy/achievement.

Do You Need Every Strange Postcard?

No.

The Strange Postcards are useful because they provide the clues needed to understand the symbol sequence for the hotel door.

However, collecting every Strange Postcard is not itself required to trigger the Sci-fi-lent Hill ending.

If you already know the correct sequence, you can enter it directly.

What Doesn’t Directly Decide the Main Ending?

Not every action in Townfall secretly changes your ending score.

Current testing indicates that these aren’t direct main-ending factors:

  • Dialogue choices
  • Total playtime
  • Ordinary healing-item use
  • Strange Postcards
  • CRTV signals
  • Other unrelated collectible categories

The main-ending system instead centers on:

  • Discoveries
  • Simon’s kills
  • Cannula Refills
  • Certain Zoe Chapter 7 puzzle mistakes

That distinction is worth remembering because Townfall contains plenty of mysterious objects and choices that can make you wonder whether you’ve just altered the ending.

Best Way to Unlock All Five Endings

If your goal is to see everything without unnecessarily replaying the entire game over and over, a two-run approach is the most practical structure.

Playthrough 1: Experience the Main Endings

For your first run, you can simply play naturally and see which of the three main endings you receive.

If you want Justice, focus on:

  • Collecting Clues and Documents
  • Avoiding unnecessary Simon kills
  • Avoiding Cannula Refills
  • Performing Zoe’s Chapter 7 puzzles carefully

If you’re deliberately targeting Forever or Abandoned, adjust your hidden score accordingly.

Remember:

Justice: More than 20
Forever: 0–19
Abandoned: Below 0

Because there is no visible score meter, a late-game manual save can be extremely useful.

New Game+: Chase Dog and Sci-fi-lent Hill

Once you’ve finished the main game, start New Game+.

During this run, collect:

Dog route

  • Bronze Coin
  • Silver Coin
  • Gold Coin
  • All three Guide Dog banks

Sci-fi route

  • Strange Book 1
  • Strange Access Card
  • Strange Book 2
  • Strange Book 3
  • Final card-reader activation

Both secret endings can be prepared during the same New Game+ run because their requirements are item-based.

Keep a manual save

A manual save before the late-game ending sequence can save a lot of time.

The main endings depend on your accumulated hidden score, while Dog and Sci-fi-lent Hill have their own item requirements.

Having a backup means you can experiment with the final stages without automatically committing yourself to another complete playthrough.

Story branches worth mapping out: When a game’s ending depends on choices scattered across the whole runtime, a full walkthrough saves you from missing anything on the way to the credits. Our story covers How to Reach Every Ending in Cairn: A Complete Narrative Guide.

Final Takeaway

Silent Hill: Townfall splits its five endings into three main outcomes and two New Game+ secrets.

Justice, Forever and Abandoned are determined by how your actions accumulate throughout the story. The hidden score rewards exploration through Discoveries while penalizing certain Simon combat actions, Cannula Refills and specific mistakes during Zoe’s Chapter 7 sequence.

Then New Game+ changes the rules completely.

For Dog, you need to hunt down three Coins and place them into three Guide Dog banks. For Sci-fi-lent Hill, you need the three Strange Books, the Strange Access Card and the correct final activation.

The biggest thing to remember is that Townfall isn’t waiting until the final conversation to decide your fate. Your run has been building toward that outcome long before the finale.

And if you’re determined to see all five, New Game+ is essential. Keep that late-game manual save handy, watch what you’re doing as Simon, explore carefully, and keep track of those hidden items — because St. Amelia has a few more surprises waiting in the fog.
