Love Island USA Season 8 winning couple Trinity Tatum and Bryce Dettloff smiling together during a formal event

The Love Island USA Season 8 reunion finally delivered the post-Villa relationship updates fans had been waiting for. Hosted by Ariana Madix and Andy Cohen, the Aug. 31 special brought the Islanders back together to revisit romances, breakups, controversies and everything that happened after Fiji.

Season 8 ended with Trinity Tatum and Bryce Dettloff taking the $100,000 prize, followed by Aniya Harvey and Carl Schmidt, Melanie Moreno and Sincere Rhea, and Kayda Bosse and Zach Georgiou. But leaving the Villa together was only the beginning. As the reunion slowly revealed, some couples made it work, some changed their relationship status, and two romances officially came to an end.

The Villa isn’t done yet. Peacock has already locked in a new season with the same host who just guided Season 8’s cast through their reunion. For more, read our coverage of Love Island USA getting renewed for Season 9 with Ariana Madix returning to host article.

Love Island USA Season 8 Winners Trinity Tatum and Bryce Dettloff Are Still Together

The biggest relationship update came from the reigning winners.

Trinity Tatum and Bryce Dettloff are still together after spending six weeks building their relationship inside the Villa. During the reunion, Bryce revealed just how close they have remained since leaving Fiji, saying he has not spent a night apart from Trinity since the show ended.

“I love her so much and I know what she means to me and like, what I mean to her.”

That makes Trinity and Bryce one of Season 8’s clearest post-Villa success stories.

Another dating show is getting a fresh shake-up of its own. New experts and a brand-new city are joining the mix as the matchmaking format heads into another season. For more, read our breakdown of Married at First Sight Season 20 landing on Peacock with new experts and a Seattle cast post.

Melanie Moreno and Sincere Rhea Are Still Together — But Taking It Slow

Third-place finalists Melanie Moreno and Sincere Rhea are also still together, although they are not rushing to define exactly what comes next.

Their relationship was complicated throughout the season, particularly because of Melanie’s connection with Sincere and the drama involving Sol Dean. Outside the Villa, however, the pair said they are focusing on seeing where their relationship naturally goes.

“We’re kind of just seeing what happens in the outside world.”

Sincere added that they were “on the same exact page” and taking things “slow.”

For now, there is no dramatic rush to put a label on something that is still developing.

Aniya Harvey and Carl Schmidt Are Making Their Long-Distance Romance Work

Second-place couple Aniya Harvey and Carl Schmidt faced a very different challenge after Fiji: distance.

Aniya is based in Georgia, while Carl lives in Colorado. After spending almost every day together on the show, the pair suddenly had to maintain their connection from different states.

Still, Aniya confirmed that communication has remained constant.

“We talk to each other every day,”

She added that they FaceTime and text each other every day. The couple is also planning a trip to Nantucket, Massachusetts, giving them another chance to spend time together away from the reality-TV spotlight.

A whole new group of strangers is about to be thrown into a game of trust and betrayal. CBS just revealed the players entering its next unpredictable season. For more, read our look at the 21 new players revealed for Survivor Season 51’s “Open Era” article.

Kayda Bosse and Zach Georgiou Went From Exclusive to Living Together

Kayda Bosse and Zach Georgiou also confirmed they were still together at the reunion, although they were initially keeping things unofficial.

The fourth-place finalists described themselves as exclusive rather than boyfriend and girlfriend, with Kayda explaining:

“We’re just together right now, taking things slow. I mean, we’re not here to please anyone else, we’re here to please ourselves. So when the time’s right, the time’s right.”

Then came the upgrade.

Kayda later posted a TikTok showing that she and Zach had moved in together with Zach’s brother Charlie in Los Angeles. Kayda referred to Zach as her “boyfriend,” and when a fan asked whether she meant to use that title, Zach replied:

“She sure did.”

So, yeah — that unofficial stage did not last very long.

New faces are shaking up established reality franchises elsewhere too. A new personality is joining an already stacked cast, promising some friction along the way. For more, read our profile on Tracy Tutor joining The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 16 post.

Titi Davis and KC Chandler Survived the Casa Amor Drama

Tierra “Titi” Davis and Kuman Dameon “KC” Chandler are another Season 8 couple who are still together.

Their relationship generated plenty of online debate during the season, particularly surrounding KC’s decision to bring Titi back from Casa Amor. Despite the criticism, the two told the reunion audience that they had continued spending significant time together.

KC revealed that they had spent most of their time together since leaving the Villa and had met each other’s families.

That makes their relationship another one that successfully survived the jump from Fiji to everyday life.

Not every reality format ends on a happy note either. A recent episode of a dance spin-off wrapped with a gutting double send-off after a high-stakes challenge shook things up. For more, read our recap of DWTS: The Next Pro’s Episode 4 ending in an emotional double elimination story.

Kenzie Annis and Dylan Wrona Are Still in Love

Kenzie Annis and Dylan Wrona also remain together.

The pair made their relationship official during a romantic moment at the Empire State Building in July, shortly after leaving the Villa. At the reunion, Kenzie confirmed that her feelings had not changed and said she was still “very much in love” with Dylan.

For a season filled with twists, their relationship remains firmly in the honeymoon stage.

Jaiden Bacciocco and Caleb McDaniel Confirm Their Breakup

And then came the first major breakup.

Jaiden Bacciocco and Caleb McDaniel confirmed that they were no longer together. The pair connected after Caleb entered the Villa and Jaiden arrived as a Casa Amor bombshell, eventually leaving the show together.

Outside the Villa, however, their long-distance relationship became difficult.

Caleb described the breakup as mutual, while Jaiden said she felt Caleb had not made enough effort to make the relationship work. She also suggested he had been unwilling to have the “uncomfortable conversation” necessary to end things.

The former couple acknowledged that they had hooked up after returning to the real world, while Peacock’s official post-reunion coverage said time-management and communication problems contributed to the split. Caleb also apologized to Jaiden for how he handled the situation.

A very different kind of seat swap is happening on another reality staple. One of the franchise’s most recognizable judges is stepping in for someone recovering from surgery. Parmida Keshani and Corbin Mims Are Choosing Friendship Instead

Parmida Keshani and Corbin Mims also confirmed they had ended their romantic relationship, but theirs was a much more amicable split.

Both now live in Miami and continue to spend time together as friends. Corbin explained that they were no longer together “in relationship terms.”

Parmida added:

“We just realized we want different things and there was really no point of being exclusive … I am happy with the memories we made together, but I’m excited to grow a friendship.”

Peacock similarly confirmed that the pair realized friendship worked better for them after attempting to continue their relationship outside the Villa.
