Peacock has renewed the hit dating competition for Season 9, with Emmy-nominated host Ariana Madix returning to guide the Islanders through another round of twists, betrayals and relationship drama.
The renewal was announced on August 26, 2026, just days before the highly anticipated Season 8 reunion. Season 9 is targeted to premiere in 2027, marking Madix’s fourth consecutive season as host after joining the franchise with Season 6. She is also coming off a major career milestone: her first Emmy nomination for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality Competition Program.

Ariana Madix Returns as Love Island USA Season 9 Builds on Season 8’s Record-Breaking Run
Madix is becoming one of the defining faces of Peacock’s expanding Love Island universe. Alongside the Season 9 renewal, Peacock has also renewed Love Island: Beyond the Villa and Love Island Games for third seasons, with both spin-offs scheduled to premiere in 2027.
Madix is confirmed to return as host of Love Island Games too, keeping her firmly at the centre of the franchise as Peacock continues expanding its reality-TV lineup.
That momentum comes after an enormous Season 8 run. The season premiered on June 2, 2026, and concluded on July 12, delivering record-breaking numbers for Peacock.

According to Peacock’s first-party data, the complete Season 8 run generated more than 19 billion minutes viewed. That figure covers the entire season rather than the premiere alone.
The premiere itself became Peacock’s most-watched TV debut ever, with approximately 3.7 million views during its premiere window. Nielsen data also ranked Love Island USA as the No. 1 streaming title for Summer 2026 to date, while the series became the No. 1 streaming reality title for six consecutive weeks.
About 35 percent of the Season 8 audience was brand-new to the series, showing just how effectively the show pulled fresh viewers into the franchise.
By the finale, Trinity Celeste Tatum and Bryce Alakai Dettloff had been crowned winners and walked away with the $100,000 grand prize.
But the season also faced controversy. Two contestants were removed following resurfaced videos or posts involving racial slurs. Vasana Montgomery was removed before the season premiered, while Alannah Keyser was removed during Casa Amor. Season 7 had experienced similar controversies involving Yulissa Escobar and Cierra Ortega, who were subsequently removed from the show.
And now, before Season 9 even reaches the Fiji villa, Season 8 has one more major checkpoint.

Love Island USA Season 8 Reunion Could Bring More Drama Before Season 9
Peacock has released a sneak peek at the Season 8 reunion, which premieres Monday, August 31, 2026, at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET, exclusively on Peacock.
Madix will co-host the reunion with Bravo’s Andy Cohen. The special was filmed earlier in August in front of a live studio audience at Universal Studios Hollywood.
More than a month after leaving the Fiji villa, the Islanders apparently haven’t left the drama behind.
One major flashpoint involves bombshells Sol Dean and Melanie Moreno. Sol refers to someone as an “antagonist” before declaring:
“It’s not about you right now. It’s about me and my experience.”
Melanie fires back by calling Sol:
“just a liar.”
Elsewhere, KC Chandler discusses feeling that the group was “accepting” of his girlfriend Tierra “Titi” Davis but not of him.
The reunion will also feature winners Trinity and Bryce, Kenzie Annis, who manages to hit a split in the teaser, plus other fan favorites and bombshells from the season.
Madix has already promised that the reunion will not hold back:
“Nothing is off limits.”
And there may be more answers coming than viewers expect.
Madix has teased previously unseen footage that could address some of the biggest questions and misconceptions surrounding Season 8.
“I think there’s some explosive stuff when it comes to unseen footage and some questions that people had or misconceptions that people had that were cleared up once and for all,” Madix said in a recent interview.
So while Season 9 is already on the horizon, Season 8 still has plenty of unfinished business.

Earlier this year, Madix described the U.S. version as being “able to carve out a unique place” within the wider Love Island franchise and credited the series with helping revive appointment television.
She said:
“It’s an absolute star maker,”
Madix also expressed excitement that Love Island USA was finally getting recognition for the scale and quality of what it produces, adding that she did not think any other show was doing what the series does.
Now, that momentum is moving directly toward Season 9.
Casting is already underway for singles 18 and older who want the chance to head to the Fiji villa next summer. The search for the next group of Islanders — and potentially the franchise’s next breakout reality stars — has officially begun.
