The second limited-time event in Pokémon Pokopia is almost here, and it brings one of the most beloved Ghost/Dark-type Pokémon into your town. Sableye is only available during this window, so if you want it permanently settled in your town, you need to act before the event closes. Here is everything you need, from start to finish.

When Does the Pokopia Sableye Event Start and End?

DetailInfo
Start DateApril 29, 2026 at 5:00 AM (local time)
End DateMay 13, 2026 at 4:59 AM (local time)
DurationApproximately two weeks
Event CurrencyRed Crystal Fragments
Featured PokémonSableye (Ghost/Dark type)

The event follows Pokopia’s real-time system, which means it starts and ends at 5:00 AM in your local time zone regardless of where you are. Once the event closes on May 13, Sableye and all related activities disappear from regular gameplay.

How Is This Event Different From the Hoppip Event?

For players who took part in the first More Spores for Hoppip event, there are a few notable differences worth knowing. The Hoppip event introduced three Pokémon, namely Hoppip, Skiploom, and Jumpluff, and centered around a jump rope and spore-collecting theme. The Sableye event, however, focuses on a single Pokémon and uses a camping and treasure-hunting theme throughout. The event currency, items, and habitat are all new, so even returning players will find fresh content to work through.

Is Sableye Available Outside of This Event?

No. Sableye is not available in Pokémon Pokopia outside of this event. This is currently the only way to befriend it and add it to your town permanently. It is not yet confirmed whether the Sableye event will return in the future, so treating this as a one-time opportunity is the safest approach.

How to Start the Sableye Event

Before anything else, make sure your Pokémon Center is fully rebuilt. Sableye only appears in towns where the Pokémon Center is complete. If yours is still under construction, focus on progressing the main game to finish it before April 29.

Once the event goes live, follow these steps:

  1. Leave your den. You will receive a notification that a certain Pokémon is the talk of the town near the Pokémon Center.
  2. Head to your Pokémon Center. Sableye will be waiting outside in the Withered Wastelands area in front of it.
  3. Talk to Sableye. This automatically befriends it and officially starts the event. No battles or extra quests are required at this stage.
  4. After the interaction, Sableye moves inside the Pokémon Center and sets up the event shop at the counter, where you can exchange Red Crystal Fragments for rewards.

Note that Cloud Islands, which are the multiplayer islands separate from the main campaign, do not take part in this event. Sableye will not appear there, and event items will not be available on those islands.

How to Get Red Crystal Fragments

Red Crystal Fragments are the event currency you need for every item in the Sableye shop. Here is how to collect them efficiently:

  1. Travel to a Dream Island by interacting with Drifbloom or using a Poké Doll. All Dream Islands spawn Red Crystal Clusters during the event.
  2. For the best results, use a Clefairy Doll or Arcanine Doll. The Dream Islands tied to these dolls have more caves and caverns, which is where Red Crystal Clusters spawn most frequently.
  3. Once on the island, head into the caves and break Red Crystal Clusters using Rock Smash. Each cluster typically drops around 4 Red Crystal Fragments, and deeper caves tend to yield more clusters per run.
  4. To mine more efficiently, learn Rollout or eat Hamburger Steak, which you can cook after freeing Chef Dente.
  5. If you explore Dream Islands thoroughly, you can collect 60 or more fragments in a single good run, which is more than enough to unlock all habitat-required items and a good selection of decorative ones.

You can also photograph a Red Crystal Cluster to unlock it for 3D printing at your Pokémon Center, at a cost of 1 Rare Pokémetal Ingot per cluster printed. However, keep in mind that Red Crystal Fragments are only renewable during the event via Dream Islands. Once the event ends on May 13, fragment farming stops entirely, so stock up on everything you want before then.

All Sableye Event Shop Items

You can exchange Red Crystal Fragments for the following items at the Pokémon Center during the event. All items have unlimited stock, so you can buy as many as you need before the event closes.

ItemCost (Red Crystal Fragments)Required for Sableye’s Habitat
Oil Lantern2No
Jewel Wall Decoration2 (per piece)No
Digital Camera5No
Map and Compass5Yes
Camping Chair5No
Treasure5Yes
Sleeping Bag10No
Camping Cooking Pot10No
Adventure Kit10Yes
Tent Kit10No

All items are event-exclusive and cannot be obtained after May 13 through regular play. The Camping Cooking Pot is also a functional piece of furniture that works as a pot for cooking Soup, making it one of the more useful picks beyond decoration. If the shop is not open when you arrive, interact with Sableye outside the Pokémon Center first to unlock it.

How to Build Sableye’s Habitat

Building Sableye’s habitat is what allows it to settle in your town permanently after the event ends. The habitat is called the Treasure-Hunting Set, and you need three specific items from the event shop:

  • 1x Adventure Kit (10 Red Crystal Fragments)
  • 1x Map and Compass (5 Red Crystal Fragments)
  • 1x Treasure (5 Red Crystal Fragments)

Once you have all three, here is how to place the habitat:

  1. Place the Adventure Kit on grassy ground in the Withered Wastelands biome. The habitat must sit in open space in this specific area.
  2. Set the Treasure to the left of the Adventure Kit.
  3. Place the Map and Compass in front of the Adventure Kit.

Arrange the three items in at least a 2×2 grid or an L-shape to complete the habitat. After the event ends on May 13, Sableye will automatically begin living in the Treasure-Hunting Set if it is built and placed correctly in the Withered Wastelands.

Until the event ends, Sableye remains inside the Pokémon Center and cannot move into the habitat yet. However, building it before May 13 ensures Sableye has a permanent home ready as soon as the event concludes.

About Sableye in Pokopia

DetailInfo
TypeGhost / Dark
Generation3
SpecialtySearch
HabitatTreasure-Hunting Set
Dex EntryDwells in darkness; uses sharp claws to dig up gems

Sableye carries the Search specialty, which means it actively contributes to exploration-related activities in your town after it moves in. This makes it a genuinely useful addition beyond its rarity as an event-exclusive Pokémon.

Can You Access the Event by Changing the System Clock?

Yes. Since events in Pokémon Pokopia are hardcoded into the game, you can switch your Nintendo Switch 2’s system time to the event period to participate. An internet connection is not required. However, time-travelling is generally not recommended as it may affect your save file, so proceed with caution if you go this route.
