The Witch Class in 99 Nights in the Forest is one of the most unique and versatile roles players can unlock. Introduced during the Potion Making Update, this class combines support and offense, letting players damage enemies and heal allies using the same weapon: the iconic Witch’s Potion.

How to Unlock the Witch Class

Players can purchase the Witch Class for 900 coins from Happy the Halloween Guy during the Halloween event. While it disappears from the shop afterward, players who already own it can continue using it permanently.

Starter Equipment

  • Witch’s Potion (infinite ammo)
This magical potion can be thrown in an arc to inflict area-of-effect (AoE) damage and random elemental effects such as fire or poison. However, it has a reload time of around six seconds, making timing crucial during combat.

Perks and Leveling

The Witch progresses through three main levels, each unlocking stronger support and offensive perks:

Level 1:

  • Throw potions at enemies to deal AoE damage or inflict a random status effect.

Level 2:

  • Throw potions at allies to heal a small portion of health.

Level 3:

  • Every potion now applies a light poison effect on top of its base effect.

Level Requirements:

  • Level 2: Hit enemies with poison (0/100)
  • Level 3: Hit enemies with poison (0/300)

(Tip: The counter measures the duration enemies are affected by poison, not the number of hits.)

Tips and Tricks

  • Combine both damage and healing by throwing potions near enemies and allies — both effects will apply simultaneously.
  • The Witch’s AoE effect can pass through walls, allowing safe attacks from cover.
  • Enemies hit by Poison or Burning effects from potions won’t aggro if they’re out of range.
  • The Fire effect can cook meat from defeated animals, helping with survival outside of campfires.
  • During Cultist Stronghold raids, lob potions from lower floors to damage enemies above.
  • The potion’s knockback effect can scatter enemies, so aim carefully.
  • Works well for supporting summons or team rescues, especially in “Missing Children” missions.

Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Excellent support and AoE damage hybrid.
  • Infinite ammunition.
  • Potions pass through walls.
  • Can heal allies and self.
  • Ideal for farming and crowd control.

Cons:

  • Long reload time (~6 seconds).
  • Moderate individual damage.
  • High cost (900 coins).
  • Knockback can unintentionally reposition enemies.

Should I Choose the Witch Class?

The Witch Class in 99 Nights in the Forest is perfect for players who enjoy tactical gameplay, mixing offense, defense, and utility. Whether healing allies in battle or raining down poisonous potions on enemies, the Witch’s flexibility makes it one of the most rewarding classes to master.
