007 First Light: How to Bypass the Sensors in the Knightfall Mission

The laser hallway in 007 First Light’s Knightfall chapter stops more players cold than almost any combat encounter in the game. One wrong step triggers a full lockdown, guards flood the area, and the path forward suddenly feels anything but clear. The good news? Getting through it is completely doable once you know exactly what to look for. Here is everything you need to bypass the sensors and escort Greenway safely to the other side.

What Triggers the Sensor Lockdown?

During the Knightfall chapter, Bond and Greenway enter an East Wing hallway inside Webb Industries. The floor here is rigged with a laser sensor grid. Stepping on the sensors triggers a full lockdown, seals all nearby doors, spawns additional guards, and forces a restart from the last checkpoint. Your goal is to disable the Sensor Security system and open a clear route for Greenway, who cannot follow until the lockdown is completely lifted.

It is worth saving your game before attempting this section, particularly on higher difficulties. On Operative and 007 mode, the sensor grid is denser and guards react significantly faster, so a manual save beforehand will spare you from replaying earlier parts of the mission if things go wrong.

Step-by-Step: How to Bypass the Sensors in 007 First Light

Step 1: Move the Wrapped Furniture

From the hallway, head left and interact with the wrapped furniture. Greenway will help Bond push it out of the way, which reveals a vent at the back of the area that connects to the surrounding offices.

Step 2: Enter the Vent and Go Left

Crawl into the ventilation duct and take the left path. This exits into Isola Vale’s office. You can pick up the collectible Office Toy here if you want, but the priority is heading out through the office’s front door.

Step 3: Hack the Meeting Room Door

Once you step out into the hallway through Isola’s office door, you will be standing in a section between the two sensor zones, so do not walk further into the laser grid. Look through the glass window to the right of the door you want to reach. You will spot a hackable door controller on the other side. Use your Q-Watch to hack it from this position. Note that this specific door controller requires a clear line of sight to work, unlike most other hackable objects in 007 First Light. The angle from Isola’s doorway is the correct one. Upgrading your Q-Watch earlier in the game makes this line-of-sight hacking more forgiving, though the basic version is fully sufficient to complete the hack.

Step 4: Go Back Through the Vent

Head back into the ventilation shaft without touching the sensors. This time, take the left exit through the vent, which brings you out on the far side of the East Wing hallway into the Damien Webb office area.

Step 5: Call the Cleaning Robot

Enter the meeting room you just unlocked via the Q-Watch hack. Inside, find the large panel and interact with it to request the cleaning service. This calls the cleaning robot, which causes the main glass doors in the hallway to open automatically to let it through.

Step 6: Disable Sensor Security

With the main door now open, move through it and locate the panel to turn off the Sensor Security. Interact with it to fully lift the lockdown. At this point, Greenway can walk through the hallway without triggering anything, and you can both progress toward the Perch.

Tips to Keep in Mind

Save before you start. Triggering the sensors forces a checkpoint restart, and on harder difficulties that can mean replaying a decent chunk of the mission. A quick manual save before entering the hallway costs nothing.

Stealth is the intended approach. While some players use the Q-Distract gadget or throw objects to trigger sensors intentionally as a distraction, the vent route is the intended method and by far the most reliable way through.

Do not rush the vent navigation. The vent has two exits and taking the wrong one puts you back in the sensor zone. Always take the left path on your first crawl through, and the left path again on your return.

Line of sight matters for hacking. Unlike most hackable objects in 007 First Light, the door controller here specifically requires a direct visual on the sensor. The angle from Isola Vale’s doorway is the position that works.

Greenway cannot follow until the lockdown lifts. This is an escort section, so keeping her safe while you work through the steps above is part of the objective. Do not expect her to move until the Sensor Security panel is fully disabled.

Once the lockdown is off, both Bond and Greenway can move freely through Webb’s offices and continue toward the next objective in the Knightfall mission.
