Note: I have created this chart based on the version of Roblox Evomon as of July 2, 2026. I will be frequently updating this guide when new additions are made to the game.
Has your high-level Evomon gotten destroyed by someone half its size lately? If you are an OG Pokรฉmon or Digimon fan, I do not need to tell you how the typing of a pocket monster can overpower an opponentโs size. Evomon runs on this similar elemental system where a well-timed type advantage can let a weaker monster take down a much stronger opponent.

The logic behind the elemental system is pretty straightforward, yet worth paying attention to. So, letโs get into all the Evomon types introduced so far!
How Many Types Does Evomon Have?
Evomon currently features 17 elemental types. Fifteen of these types have fully confirmed strengths, weaknesses, and resistances. The remaining two, Dark and Light, exist in the game, but their matchups are still marked as TBC (to be confirmed), so treat those two as ones to watch rather than plan around just yet.

How Evomon Type Interactions Actually Work
Before jumping into the chart, it will help you to understand what is actually happening behind the scenes whenever two Evomon clash. According to how the battle system in Evomon revolves around Types, also known as Elements, every monster has at least one Type that determines how well it performs against other monsters. However, the system runs on more than just a simple strong-versus-weak split.
There are three core interactions that make up the basis of this game:
- Elemental strength, which causes an attacking move to deal double damage against a vulnerable Type
- Elemental weakness, which causes a monster to take double damage from a Type it is vulnerable to
- Elemental resistance, which causes a monster to take half damage from a Type it resists
Here’s where things get really interesting though. Elemental strength and Elemental resistance don’t always overlap. Water-Type monsters, which are strong against Fire, Ground and Rock Types, actually only hold Elemental resistance against Fire and Steel Types. In other words, being good at attacking a Type does not automatically mean you are good at defending against it too, so don’t assume your Water-type is safe just because it hits Ground hard on offense.

Type Highlights Worth Remembering
It completely depends on your playstyle which elemental style may suit you better. Hence, these facts will help you make a stronger pick depending on your preference:
- Water stays reliable across most of the game since it counters Fire, Rock, and Ground, three elements you will run into constantly, especially in volcanic or rocky zones
- Steel offers the widest defensive coverage in the game, resisting seven different elements at once, though Fire, Fighting, and Electric can still bring it down fast
- Ground both counters and resists Electric, making it a strong pick against teams leaning on electric attackers
- Normal has zero super effective matchups against anything, so treat it as a safe, neutral pick rather than an offensive powerhouse
- Rock hits five different types super effectively, more than any other element on this list, but pays for it with five weaknesses in return
How to Create Your Go-To Evomon Team?
As brutal as it may sound, building a strong squad goes much beyond picking your favorite Evomon (this is only if you are playing to win). A genuinely balanced team should cover its own weaknesses while giving you an answer to as many enemy types as possible. Try pairing aggressive offensive types like Fire or Fighting with defensive anchors like Steel or Water to keep your lineup flexible against whatever you run into.
Before jumping into tougher battles, it is best to check the opponent’s type first if you can, then switch into an Evomon that holds the advantage.
While Elemental typing is the cardinal rule of Evomon, the game is also about having fun. So, if you just want to experiment around with unlikely Evomon combos (something that I love to do), go right ahead!ย Whether you are playing from the US, UK, or anywhere else in the world, the servers and updates land almost at the same time, so do not worry about any discrepancies.
I hope this guide helped you understand the basics of the elemental system. I will be updating the Dark & Light types as soon as more information comes out. Till then, happy gaming!
