Modules are one of the most important gear systems in Neverness to Everness, slotting into your character’s Console like puzzle pieces to boost stats and unlock powerful set bonuses through Cartridges. Understanding how to farm them efficiently makes a real difference to how fast your characters scale, so here is everything you need to know about getting and upgrading Modules in NTE.

What Are Modules in NTE?

Modules are gear pieces that fit into your character’s Console grid and work together with Cartridges to activate set bonuses. Each Module comes with two fixed main stats, always Flat HP and Flat ATK, plus four randomly rolled sub-stats that are all visible from the moment you obtain the Module.

Module DetailInfo
Main StatsFlat HP and Flat ATK (always fixed)
Sub-Stats4 random rolls, all visible immediately
RaritiesB (Blue), A (Pink/Purple), S (Orange/Gold)
TypesII, III, IV (based on size and block count)
Max Level+20
Sub-Stat UnlockEvery 5 levels (+5, +10, +15, +20)

Higher Type Modules take up more blocks on the Console grid but carry higher stat values. Additionally, each character has a preferred Module Type, and equipping the correct type grants bonus stats specific to that character. For example, Nanally gains 6% Critical Rate for each Type II Module equipped on her Console.

How to Get Modules in NTE: The Rewind System

Modules in NTE do not drop from enemies or open-world activities. Instead, you obtain them exclusively through the Rewind system, which functions like a controlled gacha pull mechanic built directly into the character interface.

How to Access Rewind

  • Step 1: Open the Character menu.
  • Step 2: Navigate to the Console tab.
  • Step 3: Press the Rewind button in the bottom-left corner of the screen.

From here, you spend Carrota Coins to pull Modules of different rarities depending on the difficulty tier you select.

Rewind Difficulty Tiers and Module Rarities

The difficulty tier you choose in Rewind determines the rarity of the Modules you receive:

ModeCarrota RequiredModule RarityHunter Level Required
EasyBronze CarrotaB Rank (Blue)Any
NormalSilver CarrotaA Rank (Purple)Hunter Level 20
HardGold CarrotaS Rank (Orange)Hunter Level 30

Normal and Hard modes are locked until you reach the relevant Hunter Level, so progressing your account as quickly as possible opens up better pulls sooner.

Pull Costs

  • Single pull: 80 Carrota Coins
  • 10-pull: 800 Carrota Coins

Once you unlock Normal and Hard modes, you also gain access to the Module Selection feature, which lets you set up to eight specific Module shapes you want to pull. This significantly improves your chances of getting the shapes your characters need. However, selecting duplicate Module shapes increases the cost by 5 Carrota per duplicate, so plan your selections carefully rather than stacking repeats.

How to Farm Carrota Coins

Carrota Coins are the dedicated currency for the Rewind system, and you farm them through the Rabbit Hole Anomaly Zone in the New Herland District.

Steps to Farm Carrota Coins

  • Step 1: Open your map and travel to the New Herland District.
  • Step 2: Locate the Rabbit Hole teleport point and enter the zone.
  • Step 3: Complete any dungeon inside the Rabbit Hole.
  • Step 4: Talk to the NPC after finishing to collect your Carrota Coins.

The Rabbit Hole also drops Cartridges and Manhole EXP materials in the same farming loop, making it the most efficient zone to visit regularly. You spend 40 Character Pixels per run, so this ties directly into your daily stamina usage.

Note that the Rabbit Hole requires at least Hunter Level 10 to unlock. If you have not reached that point yet, focus on pushing the main story first.

What Carrota Coins Drop Where

Carrota Coins come in three types and the type you receive depends on the difficulty of the dungeon you run:

Carrota TypeUsed ForHow to Farm
Bronze CarrotaEasy Mode pullsLower-difficulty Rabbit Hole runs
Silver CarrotaNormal Mode pullsMid-tier Rabbit Hole dungeons
Gold CarrotaHard Mode pullsHigher-difficulty Rabbit Hole stages

How to Upgrade Modules

Once you have the Modules you want, levelling them up increases the main stat value and unlocks sub-stats at every fifth level up to the cap of +20.

To upgrade Modules, you use one of two methods:

  • Feed other Modules as EXP material directly into the one you want to level.
  • Use Manhole EXP materials earned from the Rabbit Hole, specifically Manhole Thug, Manhole Crook, and Manhole Boss variants.

Since Manhole materials also come from the Rabbit Hole, your farming loop covers both pulling new Modules and upgrading the ones you already have from the same source.

How Modules and Cartridges Work Together

Modules activate the set bonuses on whichever Cartridge is equipped to your character’s Console. A Cartridge typically has two passives, one that activates with two correctly shaped Modules and one that activates with four. Matching the required Module shapes into the available Console slots unlocks these passives and is where the majority of your character’s gear power comes from.

Each character has a unique Console layout, so the shapes and arrangement of Modules that work best will differ between characters. Always check which Module Type bonuses your character benefits from before committing resources to a pull session.

Quick Tips for Efficient Module Farming

  • Unlock Normal and Hard modes as fast as possible. A Rank and S Rank Modules make a significant difference to build quality, so hitting Hunter Level 20 and 30 should be a progression priority.
  • Use the Module Selection feature for targeted pulls. Random pulls are cheaper, but the selection feature saves Carrota in the long run by narrowing down the shapes you actually need.
  • Do not spread upgrades across too many Modules early on. Focus your Manhole materials on the Modules that fit your best Cartridge set first, then expand outward.
  • Run the Rabbit Hole as part of your daily loop. Since it drops Cartridges, Carrota Coins, and Manhole materials simultaneously, it is the single most efficient daily activity for gear progression in NTE.

The Module system in Neverness to Everness rewards players who plan ahead more than those who farm blindly. Once you understand the Rewind loop and get your Hunter Level up to unlock the better tiers, your character builds will come together much faster than they otherwise would.
