If you are a Lorcana player or a Disney fan who has been waiting for the right moment to jump in, now is a great time to pay attention.

Attack of the Vine is the 13th set in the Disney Lorcana series and hits local game stores for prerelease on July 17, 2026, with a wide release following on July 24, 2026.

What Is Attack of the Vine?

Attack of the Vine introduces new franchises to the game, including Monsters Inc. and Turning Red, while also bringing back beloved characters and mechanics from earlier sets. The expansion adds new card classifications, including Team cards and Vinelings, while also providing further support for the existing Hunny keyword.

The set centres around a force of nature called the Vine, which creates copies of glimmers known as Mimics. These are clearly labelled as Vine-created copies and tie into a renewed showcase of Floodborn characters throughout the set.

Dual Ink Cards Are Back

One of the biggest announcements for Attack of the Vine is the confirmed return of Dual Ink cards. These cards belong to two different ink types simultaneously, making them exceptionally versatile across different deck builds. However, the trade-off is that they can only be added to specific decks, and they often require shifting from particular characters within limited ink colour pools.

Given those restrictions, the Team cards in this set have been designed to be powerful enough to justify the inclusion requirements.

Team Cards: The New Dual Ink Powerhouses

  • Three Disney Lorcana cards inspired by Pixar's Coco side-by-side: Héctor Rivera Street Musician, Miguel Rivera Street Musician, and Un Poco Loco Song card.
  • Two Disney Lorcana cards side-by-side featuring Pete Created by the Vine and Gaston Created by the Vine with purple and red card borders.
  • Four Disney Lorcana cards showing full-art and standard variations of Belle and Beast Certain as the Sun along with Lilo and Stitch Fun-Loving Friends.

Attack of the Vine introduces a new card type called Team cards, which feature iconic Disney duos and come with unique abilities built around their partnerships. Here is a breakdown of every confirmed Team card and what each one brings to the game:

Team CardKey Ability
Woody & Buzz LightyearCan draw additional cards on play and play 2-cost or lower cards for free when questing
Peter Pan & Tinker BellGrants all of the owner’s characters the Evasive keyword
Sulley & BooFeatures Combo Shift, allowing shift onto either Sulley, Boo, or both simultaneously; The Power of Friendship returns the characters underneath back to the field instead of the discard pile
Mickey & Minnie MouseFeatures Duo Shift, requiring both characters to be on the field before shifting into the Team card
Belle & BeastFeatures Inspiring Dance, readying all cards in the inkwell whenever this card quests; Appreciative Audience readies all other characters for 6 ink
Pocahontas & MeekoConfirmed with a full art version showcased in the reveal
Darkwing Duck & LaunchpadConfirmed Team card

The Duo Shift mechanic on Mickey & Minnie Mouse and the Combo Shift on Sulley & Boo both represent new additions to how shifting works in Disney Lorcana, building on earlier systems like Universal Shift and Puppy Shift.

The Winnie the Pooh Focus and Christopher Robin Hunny Sage

Attack of the Vine also places a major spotlight on Winnie the Pooh and his friends, tying directly into the upcoming The Great Hunny Rescue Illumineer’s Quest releasing on October 2, 2026.

The key card connecting this theme is Christopher Robin Hunny Sage, a Dual Ink card with the following confirmed abilities:

  • Gather the Party: Allows Hunny characters from any ink type to be included in the same deck, removing the usual ink restriction for that character type
  • Search ability: When played, Christopher Robin lets you search the deck for a Hunny card and place it directly in your hand

Characters confirmed to appear in the Hunny lineup include Tigger and Roo, alongside Winnie the Pooh himself. The Hunny Wizard version of Winnie the Pooh was one of the standout cards from earlier in the game’s run, and this set builds significantly on that legacy.

Vine Mimics and Floodborn Cards

The Vine functions not as a traditional villain but as an unpredictable force of nature that creates copies of existing glimmers called Mimics. Confirmed characters appearing in Mimic form include Pete and Gaston, both clearly labelled as Vine-created copies.

Alongside the Mimics, Attack of the Vine also features a renewed focus on Floodborn characters, which play a significant role throughout the set.

First Look at Three Upcoming Sets

Beyond Attack of the Vine, Ravensburger also revealed first looks at three additional sets coming later in 2026 and into 2027.

Hyperia City (October 2026)
The set is inspired by Coco and carries a heavy emphasis on music and singing. Confirmed characters include Miguel and Hector, and the set also features Un Poco Loco. Hyperia City hits prerelease on October 16, 2026, with a full release on October 23, 2026.

Into the Inkdark (Q1 2027)
This set marks the Lorcana debut of Onward and places a spotlight on Hades. Additional villains visible in the first look artwork include Captain Hook, with further reveals expected ahead of the Q1 2027 release.

Stitch vs. Leroy Set (Untitled, Q2 2027)
No name has been confirmed yet for this set, but Ravensburger revealed new artwork showing a battle between Stitch and Leroy. It is set to arrive in the second quarter of 2027.

What This Means for the Disney Lorcana Meta

The return of Dual Ink cards combined with the new Team card mechanics and the expanded Hunny keyword support gives players a significant amount to work with heading into the second half of 2026. The Combo Shift and Duo Shift mechanics in particular open up new deckbuilding strategies that were not possible in earlier sets, and the confirmed full art treatments on cards like Pocahontas & Meeko ensure the set will appeal to collectors as much as competitive players.

Attack of the Vine releases at local game stores for prerelease on July 17, 2026, with a wide release following on July 24, 2026.
