Game Science has released a new patch for Black Myth: Wukong, bringing notable visual and performance upgrades across PC and PS5. While the gameplay tweaks are subtle, the technical improvements stand out, particularly for players who want sharper visuals and smoother combat flow.
FSR 4 Arrives on PC
FidelityFX Super Resolution (FSR) 4 is now fully integrated into the game for compatible PC hardware. Once players update their drivers and enable FSR 4 in the settings, they can expect improved image reconstruction and higher frame rates without a heavy performance hit.
Lighting has also received a noticeable upgrade. Even at low Global Illumination settings, the visual quality now aligns more closely with higher presets, making the game more accessible to mid-range PC setups. Memory usage, rendering, and motion blur have been refined to reduce ghosting and edge flickering during camera movement.
PS5 Performance Mode Restored to 60 Hz
On the PS5, Performance Mode has returned to a stable 60 Hz. The team has optimized lighting to maintain visual balance while achieving higher resolution and lower input latency. A โPerformance Mode (Legacy)โ option remains available for those who prefer the older setup.
The update also improves texture clarity, loading speeds, and general responsiveness. These changes are designed to make fast-paced encounters smoother and more visually stable.
Gameplay and Localization Touches
Boss battles have seen a slight rework, particularly the fight against Yaoguai King Giant Shigandang, with improved combat flow. The Journeyerโs Chart now guides players more clearly toward the Keeperโs Shrine, enhancing early exploration.
The patch also adds Czech language support and corrects multiple translation issues, overlapping text, and subtitle sync errors.
Key Bug Fixes
- Fixed XeSS 2.0 frame generation issues on some displays (PC)
- Addressed crash problems when enabling DLSS 4 with ray tracing (PC)
- Resolved ghosting and flickering on PS5 and PC
- Corrected boss-related rendering errors
The update is rolling out gradually on both platforms, with Xbox Series X/S to follow. For players diving back in, this patch focuses less on new content and more on refining the technical experience. With FSR 4 support and smoother console performance, the world of Black Myth feels a little sharper and more fluid than before.
