In Hollow Knight: Silksong, not every discovery is straightforward. Some items reveal their purpose only much later in the game, and the Seeker’s Soul is one of them. Found deep within the perilous waters of Bilewater, this item doesn’t just sit in Hornet’s inventory; it plays a crucial role in unlocking Act 3, Silksong’s hidden endgame. Knowing where to find it and how it connects to the Silk and Soul Wish can save players hours of wandering and frustration.

Where to Find the Seeker’s Soul in Silksong

The Seeker’s Soul lies in Bilewater, tucked inside a small shell home near the Key of Apostate location. Because of this, it’s often picked up by players while already exploring the area in pursuit of the key.

There are two main routes into Bilewater, each carrying its own risks and requirements:

The Southern Approach (via Sinner’s Road)

  • Enter through Sinner’s Road and push northward.
  • This path is accessible earlier in the game, but it’s punishing. Expect waves of enemies and a boss encounter with Groal, with no bench nearby to soften the blow. Defeat him, and the way to the Seeker’s Soul will open.

The Northern Approach (via Putrified Ducts)

  • A mid-game shortcut requiring the Double Jump skill.
  • This path is faster and safer once unlocked, linking directly into Bilewater’s upper reaches.

Whichever route you choose, patience is vital. The Seeker’s Soul is not freely given—it demands a trial of persistence and skill.

The Role of the Seeker’s Soul

At first glance, the Seeker’s Soul seems to do little more than occupy a slot in Hornet’s inventory. But appearances deceive. Its true value lies in its role within the Silk and Soul Wish, a late-game quest that unlocks Act 3 of Silksong—the hidden final chapter of Hornet’s journey.

To complete the Wish, you must gather:

  • Maiden’s Soul
  • Hermit’s Soul
  • Seeker’s Soul
  • Snare Setter Tool

Of these four, only the Seeker’s Soul and the Snare Setter can be collected before triggering the questline. The other two become available only after pledging to the Silk and Soul Wish itself.

The Silk and Soul Quest Connection

The Seeker’s Soul isn’t just another trinket—it’s part of a ritual. When gathered with the other required items, it allows the Caretaker in Songclave to forge the Soul Snare, a device needed to face the endgame’s ultimate challenge.

This is the threshold into Act 3, where Pharloom shifts and darkens. Entire regions alter, enemies are infused with the Void, and new paths and bosses await. Without the Seeker’s Soul, this door remains locked forever.

Tips for the Journey

  • Prepare for Groal: If you’re entering Bilewater from the south, stock up on silk and charms to sustain long fights. His arena leaves little margin for error.
  • Prioritize Double Jump: Unlocking the Putrified Ducts route makes exploration easier and avoids repeated runs through Groal’s gauntlet.
  • Plan Ahead: Since the Seeker’s Soul doesn’t activate until the Silk and Soul quest begins, remember its location and collect it alongside other key items for efficiency.
