Only Resident Evil could turn a missing organs situation into a full blown scavenger hunt across a haunted care center. In this quest, you are handed a to-do list that involves melting padlocks, cracking coded boxes, and somehow dealing with a zombie who decided a construction vehicle was a perfectly reasonable mode of transport. Classic.
The Organless Corpse puzzle is actually the final payoff of a chain reaction that spans both wings of Rhodes Hill Care Center, and every step feeds into the next. So if you are currently standing in the Examination Room looking for those organs, this is the guide for you.
What You Need Before You Can Find the Organ Transport Box
The two immediate things need to be in your possession before the puzzle chain can begin properly:
The Security Level 1 Keycard: It sits upstairs in the East Wing of the Care Center, and you need it to access almost every locked room involved in this sequence. Without it, you are not going anywhere useful.
The Wrench: This comes later from the Custodian’s Office, is the second key item, and it unlocks Cold Storage. Keep both in mind as you move through the steps below.

The Organ Transport Box Code in Detail
The Organ Transport Box is where most players get stuck, so it deserves a little extra attention. When you examine the box, you will see a panel on the back side with a central knob, a slider on the right, and a row of numbered switches. The solution comes from the Unlocking the Organ Transport Box Note found inside the Lead Researcher’s Puzzle Box. However, if you just want the answer without hunting for it, here it is:
- Rotate the central knob from Auto to Hand
- Push the right slider up to the middle notch
- Activate switch number 5
- Activate switch number 2
- Rotate the central knob back from Hand to Auto
If you have already made attempts and the panel is not responding correctly, press Reset before trying the sequence again. The box will open and hand over the Artificial Lungs once you complete it successfully.
The Final Step and What Follows
Once you have both artificial organs, head back to the Examination Room in the East Wing and clear out the Zombie Doctor waiting inside:
- Place the Artificial Lungs and then the Artificial Heart into the corpse, and brace yourself, because it reanimates the moment both organs go in.
- Take it down quickly and collect the Security Level 2 Keycard from the body.
Before you leave the Examination Room, however, there are two things worth grabbing that are easy to walk past in the chaos:
- First, the safe in the corner of the room holds 3 Antique Coins and opens with the code Right 30, Left 10, Right 50.
- Second, on the desk you will find a Hemolytic Injector. This collectible is tied to the Fatal Dose trophy, which you unlock by using it to stealth inject a zombie, so pick it up and hold onto it if you are chasing completion.
With the Security Level 2 Keycard in hand, the next phase of the Care Center opens up. The Sun Quartz you collected during this chain also feeds directly into the Moon, Sun, and Star door puzzle in the Central Hall, so you are already better set up for what comes next than you might realise.
