Nintendo Switch 2 owners watching PS5 and Xbox players dive into LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on May 22 might be feeling a little left out right now. The good news is that TT Games has confirmed the Switch 2 version is coming. The less great news is that there is no firm date yet. Before you make any decisions, here is everything officially confirmed about the Switch 2 release, pricing, editions, and whether the wait is actually worth it.

Is LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight Coming to Nintendo Switch 2?

Yes, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is confirmed for Nintendo Switch 2, however, it will not launch alongside the other platforms. Nintendo’s own store page lists the game as releasing in 2026 with no specific date attached. So Switch 2 players will need to wait a little longer than everyone else.

Release Date: When Does It Launch on Other Platforms?

While the Switch 2 version sits without a confirmed date, the game launches on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) on May 22, 2026. That date was actually moved up by a full week from the originally announced May 29, 2026, which is a rare and welcome surprise for fans.

Deluxe Edition buyers on those platforms get up to 72 hours of early access, meaning they can play from May 19, 2026. Note that the early access period applies to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC only, and does not extend to the Nintendo Switch 2 version.

Price: How Much Does It Cost?

The pricing below reflects current-gen storefronts. Nintendo Switch 2 pricing has not been officially confirmed yet, however the Nintendo eShop listing notes it as a paid release with In-Game Purchases.

EditionPrice
Standard Edition$69.99
Deluxe Edition$89.99

In India, retailer GameLoot lists the Nintendo Switch 2 version at Rs. 4,499 with an estimated ship date of December 31, 2026. However, treat that figure as a placeholder for now, since the official price from Nintendo has not been confirmed and may differ at launch.

What Do You Get in Each Edition?

Standard Edition includes the full base game with the main story, a base roster of 7 playable characters (Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, Jim Gordon, and Talia al Ghul), 100 suits, 20+ vehicles, and 250+ Batcave props.

Deluxe Edition adds considerably more on top of that. Here is the full breakdown:

  • Early access of up to 72 hours before launch (PS5, Xbox, and PC only)
  • Legacy Collection (available at launch): Three themed DLC packs including the Arkham Trilogy Pack, Batman Beyond Pack, and Party Music Pack. Each pack contains 7 character suits, 1 Batmobile, and 5 Batcave customisation props.
  • Mayhem Collection (post-launch): A new story mission starring The Joker and Harley Quinn breaking out of Arkham Asylum, a new Mayhem Mode set in Gotham, and the Sinister Pack with 7 villain-themed suits, 1 Batmobile, and 1 Batcave prop set.

All pre-orders on both Standard and Deluxe editions also include the Dark Knight Returns Batsuit, inspired by Frank Miller’s iconic comic.

What Is the Game Actually About?

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is a narrative-driven open-world action-adventure developed by Traveller’s Tales (TT Games), the studio behind LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and published by Warner Bros. Games. The game also marks a significant technical step forward for TT Games, as it runs on Unreal Engine 5.

The story follows Bruce Wayne from his training with the League of Shadows all the way through to becoming Gotham’s protector. The base roster features 7 playable characters: Batman, Jim Gordon, Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl, Catwoman, and Talia al Ghul. Each character brings unique skills to both combat and puzzles, while Deluxe Edition buyers also unlock The Joker and Harley Quinn through the post-launch Mayhem Collection story mission.

The game supports single-player and co-op play, and the Nintendo Switch 2 listing specifically confirms TV mode, Tabletop mode, and Handheld mode support, along with 1-2 player local co-op.

How Has the Game Been Received?

Early reception on current-gen platforms has been strong. LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is tracking in the high 80s on Metacritic and has earned an Overwhelmingly Positive rating on Steam at the time of writing. That is a promising sign for Switch 2 owners waiting on their version, as the core game appears to be worth the wait.

Should Nintendo Switch 2 Players Wait or Buy on Another Platform?

That depends on what you have access to. If you own a PS5, Xbox Series X/S, or a capable PC, you can jump in on May 22, 2026. However, if Nintendo Switch 2 is your primary platform, the confirmed port means you will get the full experience eventually, just without a firm date yet.

The Nintendo eShop listing is already live, so keep an eye on that page for updates as the 2026 release window gets narrower.
