Every Game: PS Plus Extra and Premium Games May 2026

Star Wars Outlaws (PS5)

The headline addition this month. Star Wars Outlaws is an open-world action game from Ubisoft following scoundrel Kay Vess and her alien companion Nix across iconic and new Star Wars locations. The game received several post-launch updates since its initial release that significantly improved the experience, making this a good time to jump in if you skipped it before.

Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4)

Rockstar’s sprawling Western epic returns to the Game Catalog after a previous stint. The story follows outlaw Arthur Morgan as his gang fights for survival in the dying days of the Wild West. On top of the lengthy main campaign, Red Dead Redemption 2 also includes Red Dead Online, so there is plenty of content to work through once the credits roll.

Bramble: The Mountain King (PS5, PS4)

A darker, more unsettling take on Nordic folklore. Bramble: The Mountain King puts you in the role of Olle, a young boy venturing through eerie environments to rescue his sister from a troll. The game blends atmospheric exploration with moments that require careful timing on when to approach enemies and when to hide.

The Thaumaturge (PS5)

Set in early 20th-century Warsaw, The Thaumaturge is a story-driven RPG that follows Wiktor Szulski, a master of mystical arts capable of reading people’s emotions and secrets. The game features turn-based tactical combat, morally complex choices, and the ability to summon folklore-inspired demons called salutors to gain advantages in battle.

Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn (PS5)

From the studio behind Ashen comes a souls-lite action game where gods and gunpowder collide. The world of Kian is under siege after the Door to the Great Below was opened, unleashing gods and armies of the dead. Flintlock blends melee combat with magic and firearms across an epic journey to close the Door and reclaim the world.

Broken Sword: Shadows of the Templar – Reforged (PS5, PS4)

A substantially enhanced version of the original award-winning point-and-click adventure. The Reforged edition brings 4K visuals, an overhauled soundtrack, and the full globe-spanning mystery of the original intact. Players follow American George Stobbart and journalist Nico Collard as they unravel the secrets of the Knights Templar.

Enotria: The Last Song (PS5)

A soulslike action RPG set in a sun-drenched world inspired by Italian folklore. You take on the role of the Mask of Change, tasked with freeing the world from a twisted eternal play called the Canovaccio. The game allows you to don the masks of fallen enemies to unlock new playstyles, with up to three custom loadouts available to swap between at any time.

Time Crisis (PS5, PS4) – Premium Only

The classic 1997 arcade shooter returns as a PlayStation Classic for PS Plus Premium members. This is the original home console port that debuted on the first PlayStation, complete with the console-exclusive special stages. The updated version also adds all-new gyro aiming controls, making it worth revisiting even if you played it back in the day.

Do Not Forget the May 2026 Essential Freebies

If you are on any tier of PS Plus, including Essential, you can still claim three free games this month. However, you only have until 1st June 2026 to add them to your library. You do not need to install them right away as long as you claim them before the deadline.

May 2026 Essential Games:

  • EA Sports FC 26 (PS5, PS4)
  • Nine Sols (PS5, PS4)
  • Wuchang: Fallen Feathers (PS5)

Which May 2026 PS Plus Game Should You Play First?

If you have not touched Red Dead Redemption 2 yet, that is the obvious answer. It remains one of the most acclaimed open-world games ever made and the PS4 version holds up well. However, if you have already played it, Star Wars Outlaws is the fresher pick this month, particularly given how much the post-launch updates improved it from launch.

For soulslike fans, both Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn and Enotria: The Last Song offer solid options with distinct styles. Flintlock leans into guns and magic, while Enotria delivers a unique Italian folklore aesthetic that sets it apart from most genre entries.

And if you are a PS Plus Premium subscriber, Time Crisis is a short but genuinely fun nostalgia hit, especially with the new gyro controls adding a fresh layer to the classic arcade formula.
