Concrete is one of the most important late-game materials in Pokémon Pokopia, and you will need a lot of it. From rebuilding the Pokémon Center in the Sparkling Skylands to completing Important Requests and crafting key items, Concrete shows up constantly once you reach the final area. The good news is that once you have the right setup in place, producing it consistently is straightforward. Here is everything you need to know.

What You Need to Make Concrete

Concrete is a processed material, meaning you cannot find it in the world directly. Instead, you need three things to produce it:

  • A Concrete Mixer (crafted using 2 Iron Ingots)
  • Limestone (gathered from Rocky Ridges or Sparkling Skylands)
  • A Pokémon with the Crush Specialty to operate the mixer

All three need to be in place before you can start producing Concrete. The process unlocks naturally during the Sparkling Skylands story, but if you want to get ahead, here is the full breakdown.

Step 1: Get the Concrete Mixer

To unlock the Concrete Mixer recipe, you need to befriend Conkeldurr in the Sparkling Skylands. Conkeldurr appears in the Construction-Site Generator habitat, which requires a Furnace, 2 Iron Scaffolds, and 1 Iron Pipe. There is already a Furnace in the Sparkling Skylands, and you can find both Iron Pipes and Iron Scaffolds either in the Sparkling Skylands itself or at the entrance to Rocky Ridges.

Once you meet Conkeldurr, speak to him to learn the Concrete Mixer recipe. Then craft the machine using 2 Iron Ingots, which you should have in good supply by this point in the game.

Step 2: Find Limestone

Limestone is the raw resource that gets processed into Concrete. You can find it in two locations:

LocationWhere Specifically
Rocky RidgesInside the cave that contains the hot spring
Sparkling SkylandsJust beneath Tinkmaster’s tower, in the area where you first meet him

Collect Limestone using your Rock Smash ability. Both locations have a good supply available, and the Sparkling Skylands deposit sits conveniently close to where you will already be spending most of your time in the late game. One piece of Limestone produces four blocks of Concrete, so even a modest haul goes a long way.

Step 3: Process the Limestone into Concrete

Once your Concrete Mixer is placed and you have Limestone ready, follow these steps:

Step 1: Place the Concrete Mixer down near water. The game will confirm when it is positioned in a valid area.

Step 2: Add your Limestone into the Concrete Mixer.

Step 3: Ask a Crush Specialty Pokémon to follow you to the Concrete Mixer. They will begin processing the Limestone automatically.

Step 4: Wait for the processing to complete, then return to the Concrete Mixer to collect your Concrete.

Conkeldurr is a Crush Specialty Pokémon himself, making him a convenient choice since you needed to befriend him to unlock the recipe in the first place. However, several other Pokémon also carry the Crush Specialty and can operate the mixer just as effectively.

What Is Concrete Used For?

Concrete feeds into seven crafting recipes and is also required for key story progression. Here is a full breakdown of what it goes into:

RecipeCategoryConcrete Required
Asphalt RoadBlocks2
Concrete PipeOutdoor2
Concrete StepsBuilding2
Concrete WallBlocks2
Elevator PlatformUtility8 (plus Glass x8, Tinkagear x2)
Lift PlatformUtility5 (plus Iron Ingot x5, Tinkagear x1)
Warning WallBlocks1 (plus Iron Ingot x1)

Additionally, Concrete is required for the following key progression points:

  • Rebuilding the Sparkling Skylands Pokémon Center: 25 Concrete required
  • Do the Team Initiation Challenge? (Important Request): 50 Concrete required
  • Concrete Pipe Secret Base habitat: Requires Concrete Pipes crafted from Concrete, which attracts Cyndaquil and Quilava

Given how many uses Concrete has, setting up a consistent production line as soon as you arrive in the Sparkling Skylands is strongly recommended.

Tips for Producing Concrete Efficiently

  • Set up a Security Camera pointing at your Concrete Mixer so you receive a notification when processing finishes, rather than running back to check manually.
  • Stock up on Limestone from Rocky Ridges before you reach the Sparkling Skylands if you want to get ahead of the Important Requests early.
  • Keep multiple Crush Specialty Pokémon active near your Concrete Mixer to process batches without interruption.
  • Concrete takes time to process, so load the mixer and then continue with other tasks while you wait.
