Toby Fox’s Deltarune drops you into its world through a tiny window by default, which does absolutely no justice to its expressive pixel art and moody atmosphere. The good news is that switching to fullscreen takes seconds once you know where to look. However, the game handles this differently depending on your platform and how far you have progressed, so the right method depends on your setup.
How to Go Fullscreen on PC (Windows)

Windows players have two ways to activate fullscreen in Deltarune, and both work instantly without touching any files.
Method 1: Keyboard Shortcuts
This is the fastest route and works from the moment the game launches.
- Press F4 to toggle fullscreen on and off
- Alternatively, press Alt + Enter to achieve the same effect
- If you are on a laptop and F4 does not respond, try Fn + F4 instead, as many laptops require the Function key to activate the F-row
One important note: do not press Alt + F4, as that closes the game entirely rather than toggling the display.
Method 2: In-Game Config Menu
If you prefer using a controller or the keyboard shortcuts are not responding, Deltarune’s in-game Config menu also carries a fullscreen toggle. However, you cannot access this from the very start of the game. You need to play through the opening section first, which takes around 10 to 15 minutes, and reach the Dark World before the full menu becomes available.
Once you get there, follow these steps:
- Open the menu by pressing C on PC, Y on Xbox, Triangle on PlayStation, or X on Switch
- Navigate to the Config section on the far right of the menu
- Scroll down to the Fullscreen option
- Toggle it to On and exit the menu
The game switches to fullscreen immediately. You can reverse this at any point using the same steps or by pressing F4.
Keep in mind that Deltarune does not save your fullscreen preference between sessions on PC. So each time you launch the game, you will need to toggle it on again using whichever method you prefer.
How to Go Fullscreen on Mac
Mac players have their own set of options for fullscreen display.
| Method | Steps |
| Keyboard shortcut | Press Command + Control + F to toggle fullscreen |
| Menu bar | Move your mouse to the top of the screen, click View, then select Enter Full Screen |
Both methods work reliably and achieve the same result. The menu bar route is useful if you find keyboard combinations awkward, while the shortcut is the faster option for most players.
Nintendo Switch and PlayStation
On Nintendo Switch, Switch 2, and PlayStation, Deltarune runs in fullscreen automatically. Consoles do not have a windowed mode, so no additional steps are necessary. Just load the game and you are good to go.
If you encounter a known bug on Switch where Chapter 4 freezes after a chat bubble appears, press X to open the menu and select Resume. This unfreezes the screen without affecting your progress, and the fix comes directly from the official Deltarune site.
Fixing Common Fullscreen Problems on PC
| Problem | Fix |
| Game appears squished or stretched | Set your display scaling to 100% in Windows display settings and match your screen resolution to the game’s native resolution |
| Game runs too fast in fullscreen | Lower your monitor refresh rate to 60Hz in your graphics card control panel, as high refresh rate monitors can cause Deltarune to run abnormally fast |
| F4 or Alt + Enter not responding | Make sure the Deltarune window is active and selected before pressing the shortcut. Also try disabling overlays such as Discord or GeForce Experience, as these can block fullscreen toggling |
| Black screen or flickering after switching | Update your graphics drivers and restart your system. Running the game as administrator can also resolve this |
| Multiple monitors causing issues | Temporarily disable your secondary monitor via Windows Settings, then launch Deltarune and toggle fullscreen. You can re-enable the monitor once the game is running correctly |
If none of these fixes work, reinstalling Deltarune is a reliable last resort. Your save data stores separately under C:\Users[Name]\AppData\Local\DELTARUNE, so reinstalling will not erase your progress.
