After more than two years of player feedback and community building, Enshrouded is finally ready to leave Early Access behind. Keen Games has locked in an official launch date for the full 1.0 version, and there is plenty to unpack for survival RPG fans, from platform timing to what actually changes when the game graduates out of Early Access. Here is everything confirmed so far.
Enshrouded 1.0 Release Date and Platforms
Enshrouded 1.0 launches on October 15, 2026, for the following platforms:
| Platform | Release Date |
| PC (Windows) | October 15, 2026 |
| PlayStation 5 | October 15, 2026 |
| PlayStation 5 Pro | October 15, 2026 |
| Xbox Series X|S | Spring 2027 |
So if you are playing on PC or PlayStation, you can jump in alongside everyone else on day one. However, Xbox Series X|S players will need to wait until spring 2027 to get their hands on the full release.
Why Xbox Is Launching Later
Keen Games CEO Jan Jöckel addressed the Xbox delay directly in a press release, explaining that the studio’s goal was originally to launch everywhere simultaneously. According to Jöckel, Enshrouded combines large-scale voxel building, fully terraformable worlds, advanced multiplayer systems, and a vast open world, all of which proved technically demanding to bring up to the expected quality bar across every platform at once.
Jöckel put it simply: the team never wants to rush a platform release or compromise on quality. Development on the Xbox version is reportedly progressing steadily, and Keen Games has promised to share more details on Enshrouded 1.0 throughout the summer.
Enshrouded Pricing Details
Enshrouded currently costs $29.99 during its Early Access run on Steam. Keen Games has confirmed plans to increase the price once 1.0 launches, though the studio has not yet revealed the exact new figure.
How Enshrouded Got Here
Enshrouded was first revealed on May 3, 2023, before entering Early Access on Steam in January 2024. Since then, the game has welcomed over 5 million players, building a strong reputation in the survival RPG space along the way. The Early Access journey has included eight major content updates, which collectively introduced:
- Three new biomes, each with its own accompanying monsters
- New weapons, armors, and creatures
- Additional base materials and decorations
- Dynamic water, a notable technical achievement for a voxel-based game
The most recent major update, titled Forging the Path, landed in April and served as the final big Early Access patch before 1.0. It introduced the first iteration of the Adventure Sharing system, new special abilities, melee weapons with heavy attacks, refined attack chains, and a more advanced enemy awareness system.
What Changes With the Full 1.0 Release
Keen Games has laid out a clear roadmap for what 1.0 brings to the table. Expect the following improvements and additions at launch:
- A significantly improved onboarding experience for new players
- Smoother quest progression throughout the game
- Performance optimizations, including better stability across different hardware setups and faster shader compilation
- New areas and enemies to explore and fight
- An improved Adventure Sharing system, letting players share entire worlds along with everything they have built
- Better AI and updated combat systems
The expanded Adventure Sharing system deserves a special mention here. It will allow players to fill shared worlds with traps, enemy spawners, and other custom features, essentially letting the community build their own dungeons and experiences for others to try out.
What Is Enshrouded, Exactly
For anyone new to the game, Enshrouded is a survival action RPG built around voxel-based building, crafting, and co-op combat, set across a continent called Embervale. Players take on the role of Flameborn, tasked with battling through a corrupting fog, defeating punishing bosses, and rebuilding a fallen kingdom’s lost history. Since launch, players have used its building systems to create everything from detailed castle recreations to more lighthearted builds, decorating their bases with weapon racks, feast tables, and plenty of personal touches.
Why October Timing Works in Enshrouded’s Favor
October also happens to be a relatively open month on the release calendar, since several major titles, including fellow survival RPG Valheim, have opted for September launches to avoid overlapping with GTA 6. That gap gives Enshrouded a clearer path to capture both new players and returning Early Access fans without going head to head with a flood of competing releases.
Quick Recap
- 1.0 release date: October 15, 2026
