The wait for an actual number is finally over. After months of speculation, nervous predictions, and analysts practically begging Rockstar to break the $70 ceiling, Grand Theft Auto 6 finally has an official price tag. Whether you are based in the US, the UK, or anywhere across Europe, here is exactly what you will pay, what comes with each edition, and everything else confirmed so far about pre-orders and launch.

Grand Theft Auto 6 Price by Region

Rockstar has kept the edition lineup simple, just a Standard Edition and an Ultimate Edition, but pricing varies depending on where you live. Here is the full regional breakdown:

RegionStandard EditionUltimate Edition
United States$79.99$99.99
United Kingdom£69.99£89.99
Europe€79.99€99.99
Australia$129.95$159.95
Canada$109.99$139.99
Japan¥9,800¥12,280

In the US, this makes Grand Theft Auto 6 the first game since Mario Kart World to launch at the $80 price point, marking roughly a $10 increase compared to most other major releases this console generation.

Release Date and Platforms

Grand Theft Auto 6 launches on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X/S. However, if you are hoping to play on PC, there is currently no confirmed release date for that version. Former Rockstar developers have suggested PC players could be waiting well over a year after console launch, based on how previous Rockstar titles have rolled out across platforms.

Pre-Orders Are Already Live

Pre-orders went live at midnight local time on June 25, 2026, and you can currently reserve your copy through several storefronts, including:

  • PlayStation Store
  • Microsoft Store
  • Rockstar Games Store
  • Amazon, Best Buy, GameStop, Walmart, and other participating retailers

If you go digital, you can begin pre-loading the game starting November 12, a full week before launch. This should help ease some of the inevitable server strain on launch day, something digital storefronts have struggled with for past major releases.

What’s in the Ultimate Edition

For players considering the pricier option, the Ultimate Edition bundles in extra content woven directly into the campaign rather than dumped into your inventory on day one. According to Rockstar, this includes:

  • Exclusive premium vehicles, including a 1995 Grotti Cheetah sports car
  • Matching Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers in a Vice City theme for both protagonists
  • Personalized sidearm variants for Jason and Lucia
  • Additional outfits and weapons

Rockstar describes this content as being threaded across all aspects of Jason and Lucia’s story, unlocking progressively as you play rather than handing everything to you immediately. However, if you would rather start with the Standard Edition, Rockstar has confirmed that an Ultimate Edition upgrade will be available separately at a later date, so you are not locked into paying $99.99 upfront.

Pre-Order Bonuses Worth Knowing About

Anyone who pre-orders Grand Theft Auto 6, or buys it before November 20, 2026, will receive the Vintage Vice City Pack. Rockstar describes this as a collection of items that flash back to when the neon burned brightest, bundling together cosmetics, vehicles, and outfits inspired by Vice City’s signature aesthetic.

Digital pre-orders also come with one free month of GTA+, Rockstar’s subscription service, which can be redeemed right away and used across GTA Online and select other Rockstar titles.

No Disc in the Box

Here is a detail worth flagging before you assume a physical copy means a traditional game disc. It does not. The physical edition of Grand Theft Auto 6 contains a download code inside the box, rather than a disc you can pop into your console. Physical copies become available from November 12, timed specifically to support pre-loading ahead of launch.

Single-Player Only at Launch

One detail buried in the pre-order announcement deserves attention. Rockstar has explicitly described Grand Theft Auto 6 as a single-player experience for its November 19 release, with no mention of a multiplayer mode or GTA Online successor at launch. Meanwhile, the original GTA Online will continue running as usual on its existing infrastructure. Whether a new online mode arrives sometime after launch remains unknown for now.

Why the Price Jump Makes Sense to Some Analysts

The $80 price tag did not come out of nowhere. Bank of America analyst Omar Dessouky had previously argued that Rockstar raising the price would actually benefit the wider games industry, since other publishers might struggle to justify their own price increases if GTA 6 launched at the standard $70.

Speaking at the Iicon event, Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick addressed the pricing question directly, stating that consumers need to feel like the value they receive matches what they pay. He noted that, accounting for inflation, video game prices have actually fallen over time relative to development costs.

It is also worth noting that Take-Two was the first major publisher to push prices to $70 at the start of this console generation, a move that several other publishers eventually followed on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Whether $80 becomes the next industry benchmark remains to be seen.

Quick Recap

  • US price: $79.99 (Standard), $99.99 (Ultimate)
  • UK price: £69.99 (Standard), £89.99 (Ultimate)
  • Europe price: €79.99 (Standard), €99.99 (Ultimate)
  • Release date: November 19, 2026
  • Platforms: PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X/S (no confirmed PC date)
  • Physical edition: Download code in the box, no disc
  • Multiplayer: Not available at launch, single-player only
  • Pre-order bonus: Vintage Vice City Pack plus one free month of GTA+

With pre-orders now live across every major storefront and a confirmed price across multiple regions, the only thing left for fans to do is decide which edition fits their budget before Grand Theft Auto 6 finally arrives this November.
