Ready to Update Tomodachi Life? Version 1.0.3 Is Out Now, but One Major Fix Changes Everything

Nintendo just dropped Version 1.0.3 for Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream, and if a glitchy Ferris wheel or a camera with zero concept of personal space has been testing your patience, this patch is exactly what your island needed.

Tomodachi Life Version 1.0.3: What Is the Update and When Did It Drop?

Nintendo released Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream Version 1.0.3 on June 25, 2026, available now on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. The update addresses eight specific bugs that were disrupting gameplay, along with a notable change to how local play transfers work. This follows the previous Version 1.0.2 update released back in May 2026.

Full Patch Notes: Everything Fixed in Version 1.0.3

Bug FixedWhat Was Happening
Ferris wheel visit glitchVisiting a Mii from the Mii List at the exact moment they entered or exited the Ferris wheel blocked game progression entirely
Money display errorReceiving money could cause the displayed amount to show incorrectly, which then prevented further game progression
Satisfaction level crashRaising a Mii’s satisfaction level repeatedly could trigger an error and force the game to close
Relationship day counterThe number of days since two Miis became sweethearts or got married was displaying incorrectly
Camera zoom during head rubThe camera was zooming in far too closely during head rub interactions
Mii News and Photo Studio displayCertain objects were occasionally failing to appear correctly in Mii News segments and the Photo Studio
Outfit recognition failureA Mii could own every clothing item needed for an outfit, but the game would not register it as complete
Lingo cut shortLingo taught to Mii characters was sometimes not being spoken in full

Nintendo also confirmed that additional issues were fixed to improve the overall gameplay experience, beyond the eight named bugs above.

The Local Play Change You Need to Know About

Beyond the bug fixes, Version 1.0.3 also introduces one change to local play that affects how you share content with other players. Mii characters and other creations can no longer be sent via local play if the island name or player name contains numbers or text subject to display restrictions. This appears to be a measure to prevent display conflicts or content issues that certain naming formats can cause when transferring between players.

So if you have been using numbers or restricted characters in your island or player name, you will want to keep that in mind before your next local play session.

Why Two of These Fixes Matter More Than the Rest

Most of the bugs in this patch are irritating but manageable. However, two of them deserve special attention because they were actively stopping players from progressing in the game entirely.

The Ferris wheel glitch was one of the more unpredictable issues, since it triggered based on the timing of visiting a Mii through the Mii List. Players had no reliable way to avoid it, which made it particularly frustrating. The money display bug was similarly disruptive, since an incorrect money total would lock the game’s progression until resolved.

The outfit recognition fix is also worth highlighting. Building out each Mii’s wardrobe is a meaningful part of the Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream experience, and having a fully completed outfit go unacknowledged by the game was quietly undermining that progress in a way that felt genuinely unfair.

How to Download Version 1.0.3

Tomodachi Life: Living the Dream is available exclusively on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. You can download the update by following these steps:

If you have automatic updates enabled, the patch should already be installed on your console. Nintendo also confirms that your save data will remain intact after downloading the update.
