Who Plays Diana in Pragmata? Voice Actress Revealed

Diana, the android girl, and Hugh Williams in a high-tech lunar environment from Capcom's Pragmata.

Capcom’s long-awaited sci-fi action-adventure Pragmata launched on April 17, 2026, and one character has captured hearts across the gaming community almost immediately. Diana, the childlike android at the centre of the game’s story, has drawn enormous praise for her voice performance. So who is the actress behind her:

Who Voices Diana in Pragmata?

Grace Saif voices Diana in the English version of Pragmata. Her performance brings the android companion to life across the entirety of the game, and players and critics have widely praised the work she has done with the role.

In the Japanese version, Nao Toyama voices Diana. Toyama brings an extensive track record in anime-themed games to the role, with her most notable credits including Suma in Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2, Kimberly in Street Fighter 6, and Mualani in Genshin Impact.

Who Is Grace Saif?

Grace Saif is a British actress whose career spans both television and video games. Outside of gaming, she is widely recognised for her role as Ani Achola in the Netflix drama 13 Reasons Why.

Her gaming credits are selective but memorable. Before Pragmata, she voiced Manana in Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and the Jar Bairn in Elden Ring. Diana in Pragmata represents her most prominent and most demanding video game role to date.

How Was Diana Cast and Recorded?

The casting process for Pragmata was notably different from the typical industry approach. After the actors joined the project, Capcom brought the cast in for a table read, which is uncommon in game development. Grace Saif and Hugh’s voice actor David Menkin read through early cutscenes together, including the moment where Hugh names Diana, before recording began in earnest.

However, Saif and Menkin never recorded their lines together in the same booth. Menkin recorded his sessions first, and Saif then worked off his recordings during her own separate sessions. At one point, Saif had moved ahead of Menkin in the recording schedule, giving her the opportunity to set the tone that he would follow when he returned to the booth.

What Makes Diana Such a Standout Performance?

Critics and players have pointed to several qualities that make Grace Saif’s work as Diana so effective. Diana is written as a child-like android, and the challenge of the role lies in making her feel genuinely innocent and curious without the performance becoming irritating or unconvincing over the course of the full game.

Giant Bomb specifically highlighted that Diana avoids being an annoying companion despite being a talkative child, noting that she consistently provides useful information to the player. Reviews across IGN, GameSpot, and The Guardian all pointed to the Hugh and Diana relationship as the emotional core of the game, with The Guardian calling it a “father-daughter relationship” handled with “surprising deftness.”

About Pragmata

Pragmata is a single-player, third-person sci-fi action-adventure developed and published by Capcom. It released on April 17, 2026 across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2 (with the Switch 2 version releasing on April 24, 2026 in Japan). The game was originally announced back in June 2020 during Sony’s PlayStation 5 reveal stream, making its eventual release a six-year journey for the development team.

The game follows spacefarer Hugh Williams and android Diana as they work together to survive a hostile AI takeover at a lunar research station and find a way back to Earth. Pragmata sold over 1 million copies worldwide within two days of launch and holds an 88/100 on Metacritic across PC and Nintendo Switch 2 versions, with 95% of critics recommending it on OpenCritic.
