What Is Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered?
Godzilla: Destroy All Monsters Melee Remastered is a full remaster of the original 2002 kaiju arena brawler, rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. Atari and Pipeworks are developing it in partnership with Toho International. The game delivers 4K visuals while maintaining 99% mechanical fidelity to the original, meaning the core gameplay you remember stays intact.
Confirmed Features
Atari and Pipeworks have confirmed several new and returning features for the remaster:
- Unreal Engine 5 rebuild with 4K visuals and ground-up visual enhancements
- 12 playable kaiju to unlock and battle with
- Online multiplayer with Versus and Melee modes, alongside local couch co-op
- 8 battle locations, each with day and night variations, including real-world cities, Monster Island, and the alien Mothership
- Fully destructible environments across cities such as Tokyo and San Francisco
- Streamlined currency-based unlock system, letting players unlock monsters and locations in any order
- Modern controller haptics support
