Hailee Steinfeld has offered fans a closer look at a Halloween celebration that brought together her family, friends and several familiar faces from the Buffalo Bills. What started as a themed gathering became a particularly memorable occasion for the actress and her husband, Josh Allen, with carefully planned decorations, creative costumes and a special appearance from their baby daughter.
The couple’s celebration also came with an unusual detail: it took place after Halloween rather than on October 31. Steinfeld has now explained why the date was different, while sharing the inspiration behind the party and revealing more about how her family celebrated Harper’s first Halloween.
Why Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen Celebrated Halloween Two Days Late
Halloween fell on Saturday, October 31, 2026, but Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen waited until Monday, November 2, to host their larger celebration.
Steinfeld addressed the timing in her November 4 edition of the Beau Society newsletter, explaining that professional commitments can sometimes make it necessary to celebrate special occasions on different dates.
Rather than treating the change as a major inconvenience, she suggested that the important thing was finding time to enjoy meaningful traditions with loved ones.
“Sometimes a job forces you to get creative about when you celebrate holidays,” Steinfeld wrote.
She also explained that people sometimes celebrate Christmas in January or Thanksgiving a day early, making a Halloween gathering two days late seem perfectly reasonable.
Her message was particularly straightforward:
“If you’re making time to celebrate the occasions and traditions that matter to you with people you love, who cares what the date is?”
The November 2 gathering came immediately after an important weekend for Allen, whose Buffalo Bills had returned from their bye week with a convincing victory over the Baltimore Ravens.
However, Steinfeld’s explanation for the delayed celebration centred on the couple’s work schedules and their desire to make time for the occasion.
Inside ‘Allen’s in Wonderland’: The Halloween Party’s Alice in Wonderland Theme
The couple gave their celebration a personalised title: “Allen’s in Wonderland.”
Inspired by Alice in Wonderland, the concept incorporated the Allen family name into a familiar fantasy setting. Steinfeld revealed that the idea was something she had already been considering and that she had prepared a mood board before bringing the event together.
She also credited local businesses with helping turn her plans into reality.
“Getting back into hosting was a blast,” Steinfeld wrote, explaining that she had already created the mood board and worked with local businesses to bring the idea to life.
The finished venue featured several recognisable elements from the Wonderland story.
Guests were welcomed through a themed entrance featuring the words “Allen’s in Wonderland.” Another display incorporated the memorable phrase “We’re all mad here.”
Oversized playing cards were among the central decorative features, including displays portraying Steinfeld and Allen as the Queen and King of Hearts.
Additional photographs shared by guests revealed more of the venue, including a tunnel-like entrance, chess-inspired decorations, large playing cards and a dessert area featuring teacups.
Rather than relying on costumes alone, the couple coordinated the decorations, entrance and food presentation around a consistent Wonderland-inspired concept.
More Celebrity Halloween Costumes
Celebrity Halloween celebrations are a natural extension of Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen’s themed party, especially for readers following 2026 costume trends. Fans can also explore our celebrity Halloween costumes 2026 roundup for more star-studded looks.
Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen’s Queen and King of Hearts Costumes
Naturally, the hosts took on two of the most recognisable roles associated with their chosen theme.
Steinfeld dressed as the Queen of Hearts, wearing a dark outfit featuring red details, a cape and a crown. Allen complemented her look as the King of Hearts, also wearing a dark costume with a cape and crown.
Their coordinated outfits were reflected in one of the party’s large playing-card displays, which featured the couple in their respective Wonderland-inspired roles.
The costumes also continued an interest in themed Halloween celebrations that the pair have developed over recent years.
Their 2024 Halloween gathering had a circus theme, while their 2025 celebration was more subdued.
Steinfeld had previously described herself and Allen as not originally being particularly devoted to Halloween. However, their earlier themed celebration helped make the holiday something they enjoyed organising together.
The 2026 event continued that tradition, with the Queen and King of Hearts becoming the central figures of their elaborate Wonderland setting.
Baby Harper’s First Halloween Gets an Alice in Wonderland Twist
One of the most special parts of the celebration was the involvement of the couple’s daughter, Harper Haize Allen.
Steinfeld and Allen welcomed Harper in early April 2026, making this her first Halloween season.
For the November 2 celebration, the baby wore an outfit inspired by Alice, featuring a light blue dress, white tights and shoes. Photographs shared publicly offered a glimpse of her costume without showing her face fully.
However, the Alice-inspired outfit was not Harper’s only Halloween look this year.
In her Beau Society newsletter, Steinfeld revealed that her daughter had already worn three different costumes during the celebrations.
“Last week, Harper was a bat, a cabbage patch, and a Highland cow (dad’s choice),” Steinfeld wrote.
She added that the family was enjoying dressing Harper up and intended to continue the fun a little longer.
The Highland cow costume was Allen’s choice, giving the baby another outfit alongside the bat and Cabbage Patch doll looks.
Her Alice-inspired appearance at the family gathering therefore became another addition to her first Halloween wardrobe, connecting the youngest member of the family directly to the party’s central theme.
Buffalo Bills Players and Their Partners Attend the Halloween Celebration
The guest list added another layer of interest to the evening, with several Buffalo Bills players and their partners joining the festivities.
Among those photographed at the event were D.J. Moore, Dion Dawkins and Bradley Chubb, alongside their respective partners. Other Bills players spotted in photographs included Zane Durant, Jude Bowry and Tyrell Shavers.
Although Steinfeld and Allen had built the event around Alice in Wonderland, guests were free to choose costumes from other popular entertainment franchises.
Several couples arrived in outfits inspired by well-known films, television shows and comic-book characters.
D.J. Moore and Raven Moore Choose Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
D.J. Moore and his wife, Raven Moore, dressed as Violet Beauregarde and Augustus Gloop from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
Raven also shared photographs from the gathering, including pictures taken inside the party’s photo booth.
Dion Dawkins and Daiyaana Muhamad Channel The Simpsons
Dion Dawkins and Daiyaana Muhamad chose a television-inspired combination, dressing as Sideshow Bob and Marge Simpson from The Simpsons.
Bradley Chubb and Lady Chubb Bring X-Men Characters to the Party
Bradley Chubb attended with his wife, Lady Chubb, and the pair dressed as Wolverine and Storm from X-Men.
The different costumes gave the celebration a wider pop-culture feel while allowing the Wonderland decorations to remain the main visual theme of the evening.
Josh Allen’s Halloween Celebration Followed a Major Buffalo Bills Victory
The timing of the party also placed it immediately after a significant result for Allen and his teammates.
On Sunday, November 1, 2026, the Buffalo Bills defeated the Baltimore Ravens 36-10 at Highmark Stadium, improving their season record to 6-1.
Allen delivered an impressive performance, completing 21 of 34 passes for 289 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed for 30 yards and a touchdown, giving him three total touchdowns in the game.
One of the most notable moments came in the fourth quarter when Allen connected with D.J. Moore for a touchdown pass.
That score gave Allen 259 career passing touchdowns, moving him past Bills Hall of Famer Jim Kelly for the franchise record.
The victory also marked a strong return from Buffalo’s bye week. The Bills scored 20 points in the second half and restricted Baltimore to 10 points overall.
The following evening, Allen and Steinfeld hosted their Halloween gathering, bringing together family, friends and several members of the Bills organisation.
The sequence of events provides additional context for the couple’s busy weekend, although Steinfeld specifically attributed the delayed Halloween celebration to professional scheduling commitments rather than the football result.
Hailee Steinfeld Continues Sharing Selective Family Moments Through Beau Society
The latest Halloween photographs also reflect how Steinfeld has approached sharing aspects of her family life since Harper’s arrival.
Through Beau Society, the actress has occasionally offered personal updates about motherhood and everyday family experiences while maintaining boundaries around her daughter’s privacy.
Her posts have included selected photographs of Allen spending time with Harper, along with glimpses of family occasions and meaningful moments.
Allen has also spoken positively about spending time away with his wife and daughter.
Following the Bills’ bye week, he described getting away with Steinfeld and Harper as a particularly enjoyable break. Steinfeld also shared a photograph from that period showing Allen with their daughter.
The Halloween celebration followed a similar approach. Rather than making Harper’s private life the focus of extensive public coverage, the couple shared limited glimpses of her costumes and her Alice-inspired appearance.
This allowed fans to see part of the family’s first Halloween together while preserving the privacy the couple have generally maintained around their daughter.
Ella Langley’s Halloween Costume
Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen were not the only celebrities turning Halloween into a themed celebration in 2026. Country music fans can also see our Ella Langley Toy Story Halloween costume story for another celebrity Halloween look.
Conclusion: ‘Allen’s in Wonderland’ Becomes a Memorable First Halloween for Harper
Hailee Steinfeld and Josh Allen’s “Allen’s in Wonderland” celebration brought together their love of themed Halloween gatherings, Allen’s Buffalo Bills connections and an important family milestone.
Held on November 2, two days after Halloween, the event featured the couple as the Queen and King of Hearts, elaborate Wonderland decorations and appearances from several Bills players and their partners. Their daughter Harper also joined the celebration in an Alice-inspired outfit, adding another memorable moment to her first Halloween season.
Steinfeld’s explanation about celebrating holidays on different dates captured the thinking behind the gathering: making time for traditions and loved ones matters more than sticking rigidly to the calendar.
With its creative costumes, personalised decorations and family involvement, the celebration continued a tradition the couple have increasingly embraced together.
