The wait for Berserk of Gluttony Season 2 has finally become much more real. The dark fantasy anime is officially returning in 2027, and the latest update reveals that production has already reached the voice-recording stage.

Even better for fans of Fate Graphite, Ryota Osaka, the character’s voice actor, has confirmed that recording for Season 2 is already underway. Following the sequel’s greenlight in April 2026, the new update gives fans their clearest look yet at how far the anime has progressed.

Sequel Season: Berserk of Gluttony isn’t the only dark fantasy with a confirmed comeback window, as another sword-and-sorcery series just locked in its own next chapter. Full story here: Wistoria: Wand and Sword Season 3 Officially Announced — Release Window and What to Expect.

‘Berserk of Gluttony’ Season 2 Release Window Confirmed for 2027

Point Set has officially announced that Berserk of Gluttony Season 2 will premiere in 2027. An exact release date has not been revealed yet, but the confirmation establishes the sequel’s first official broadcast window.

The announcement arrived alongside a special video message from Ryota Osaka, who is returning as Fate Graphite. Osaka revealed that recording for the new season has already started, making this more than just another continuation announcement—the sequel is actively moving through production.

Osaka also looked back at the Season 1 wrap-up party, where he remembered hearing that a second season could proceed depending on staff schedules. Now that Season 2 is officially moving forward, the actor said he was happy that the project ultimately came together.

His recording sessions with Tomokazu Seki, who voices Fate’s black sword Greed, also appear to be bringing plenty of energy back into the series. Osaka explained that Seki often adds ad-libs during recording, which leads Osaka to respond with ad-libs of his own.

The actor also praised the harmony among the returning cast and encouraged fans to look forward to the anime’s 2027 broadcast.

When Did ‘Berserk of Gluttony’ Season 1 Air?

Before Fate’s next adventure arrives, it is worth remembering where the anime began. Berserk of Gluttony, also known by its Japanese title Bōshoku no Berserk, originally aired from October through December 2023 for a total of 12 episodes.

The first season was directed by Tetsuya Yanagisawa at studio ACGT, with Mariko Kunisawa responsible for series composition. Takafumi Furusawa handled character design, while Yuichi Ono composed the music.

Crunchyroll streamed the first season during its original broadcast and later released an English dub.

For Season 2, details beyond the returning core team have not yet been fully confirmed.

Voices Return: Returning cast chemistry is a big deal across anime sequels right now, and one legendary shonen crew has its own reunion brewing ahead of a major convention reveal. ‘Berserk of Gluttony’ Season 2 Cast: Who Is Returning?

The main voice cast from Season 1 is expected to return, with the latest recording update providing the strongest indication yet that the performers are already working on the sequel.

The expected returning cast includes:

  • Ryota Osaka as Fate Graphite
  • Tomokazu Seki as Greed
  • Hisako Tōjō as Roxy
  • Misato Matsuoka as Myne
  • Hitomi Sekine as Eris

Osaka’s comments about recording with Seki are particularly interesting for fans because Fate and Greed share one of the anime’s most distinctive character dynamics. His mention of their ad-lib exchanges suggests that some of the chemistry that made their scenes stand out is already returning inside the recording booth.

What Is ‘Berserk of Gluttony’ About?

The anime is based on the light novel series Berserk of Gluttony: The One That Exceeds the Concept of Levels, written by Ichika Isshiki, also referred to as Isshiki Ichirin, and illustrated by fame.

The story first began as a web novel on Shōsetsuka ni Narō before being published in print by Micro Magazine under its GC Novels imprint. A manga adaptation illustrated by Daisuke Takino has also achieved major success, with more than 2.2 million copies in circulation.

At the centre of the story is Fate Graphite, a young man whose Gluttony skill appears to be nothing more than a curse. It leaves him constantly hungry and causes others to shun him.

But everything changes after Fate kills a thief and discovers what his ability can truly do.

Fate Graphite lives in a world where a person’s magical ability can determine their place in society. Born with the Gluttony skill, he is plagued by an uncontrollable hunger and treated as an outcast because his ability initially appears worthless. His life changes after he kills a thief and discovers Gluttony’s hidden power: he can absorb the abilities of those he defeats, gaining their skills and strength while satisfying his insatiable appetite. Fate must then figure out how to master this dangerous ability before it consumes him.

Seven Seas Entertainment, which publishes the light novels and manga in English, similarly describes Fate as a character whose Gluttony eventually awakens into a terrifying power after he kills a dying thief and devours the man’s strength and soul.

Power Struggles: Underdog protagonists hiding terrifying strength is a theme running through plenty of current anime, including one manga hero whose own power gap against a godlike enemy is fueling major fan theories. Fate and Roxy’s Season 2 Visual Already Teased the Sequel

The road to the 2027 announcement actually began earlier this year. In April 2026, Season 2 was officially announced with a visual featuring Fate and the Holy Knight Roxy forming the number “2” with their hands.

Roxy was also shown wearing a new outfit that will debut in the sequel.

That announcement confirmed that the anime was continuing, but it did not provide a premiere year. The latest update changes that by officially placing Berserk of Gluttony Season 2 on the 2027 anime calendar.

What We Know About the ‘Berserk of Gluttony’ Season 2 Release Date

For now, 2027 is the only confirmed release window. There is no exact premiere date, episode count, complete Season 2 staff lineup, or information about additional cast members.

Those details are expected to emerge as production continues. What fans do know is significantly more concrete than the original April announcement: the sequel is not merely planned, and voice recording is already underway.

Fate Graphite’s next chapter is officially on the way, and the wait for Berserk of Gluttony Season 2 now has a confirmed destination—2027.
