The next chapter of Ascendance of a Bookworm is officially taking shape. The upcoming television anime Ascendance of a Bookworm: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke has unveiled its main trailer, confirmed additional staff members, revealed its opening theme artist, and locked in an April 4 debut date. The series will air for two consecutive cours, giving the story a planned half-year run.

April Broadcast Schedule and Where to Watch

The anime will premiere on April 4 at 5:30 p.m. JST on Yomiuri TV and NTV. Tokyo MX will begin airing the series on April 6 at 9:25 p.m. JST. This staggered schedule places the show firmly in the spring anime season, where it will compete alongside several high-profile releases.

Opening Theme and Musical Direction

The main trailer previews the opening theme song “Pages,” performed by Little Glee Monster. The song’s tone reflects the emotional and intellectual core of the series, reinforcing Rozemyne’s quiet determination and love for books. Music composition once again falls to MICHIRU, maintaining continuity with the franchise’s earlier anime seasons.

Staff Updates and Creative Direction

Wit Studio leads animation production for this new arc, signaling a shift in visual approach from the previous seasons. Yoshiaki Iwasaki steps in as director, bringing experience from character-driven and romantic series. Mariko Kunisawa returns to handle series composition, ensuring narrative consistency with earlier adaptations.

Aiko Minowa joins as character designer, while several new staff members strengthen the visual and technical side of the production. These include Makiho Kondō for color design, Seiki Tamura as art director, and Mayuko Koike overseeing compositing and photography. Jun Watanabe returns as sound director, preserving the series’ established audio identity.

Returning Cast and Character Focus

Yuka Iguchi reprises her role as Rozemyne, formerly known as Myne, while Show Hayami returns as Ferdinand. Their performances remain central to the story’s emotional weight, especially as the narrative moves deeper into noble society and political tension.

Story Overview: A New Life Among Nobles

Adopted Daughter of an Archduke adapts Part 3 of Miya Kazuki’s light novel series. The story follows Rozemyne as she leaves her life in the lower city and enters noble society as the adopted daughter of an archduke. While her status offers protection, it also brings rigid rules, intense training, and dangerous power struggles.

If you have followed the series so far, this arc expands the world in meaningful ways. It shifts focus from survival to influence, showing how Rozemyne’s passion for books begins to reshape society itself.

A Franchise With Proven Reach

The original light novel series concluded in December 2023 with over 13 million copies in circulation worldwide. Previous anime seasons aired between 2019 and 2022, alongside OVAs, manga adaptations, and even a stage musical. This new series continues that momentum while signaling a fresh creative phase.

With a confirmed release date, a full trailer, and a clear production vision, Ascendance of a Bookworm: Adopted Daughter of an Archduke is shaping up to be one of spring’s most anticipated fantasy anime titles.
