Resident Evil Requiem launches today, February 27, 2026, and if you are an Xbox Game Pass subscriber hoping to jump into Raccoon City without spending anything extra, we have some news for you. It is not the answer most people want, but the full picture is worth understanding before you make any decisions about your wallet.

Is Resident Evil Requiem on Xbox Game Pass at Launch?

No. Resident Evil Requiem will not be available on Xbox Game Pass when it launches today. Capcom has made no announcement about a Game Pass release, and neither the Xbox Store listing nor any official Resident Evil Requiem trailer or presentation has referenced Game Pass compatibility in any form. There is no early access tier, no day-one inclusion, and no confirmed date for when or if that changes.

PlayStation Plus subscribers find themselves in the same position. Resident Evil Requiem requires a full purchase on both platforms from day one.

How Much Does Resident Evil Requiem Cost on Xbox?

You can purchase Resident Evil Requiem directly through the Xbox Store in two editions:

EditionPriceWhat’s Included
Standard Edition$69.99Full game
Deluxe Edition$79.99Full game plus the Deluxe Kit

The Deluxe Kit includes additional costumes for both Grace and Leon, weapon skins, screen filters, audio packs, charms, and archive files. Both editions support 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, 60fps and above, Spatial Sound, Dolby Atmos, and DTS:X on Xbox Series X/S.

Will Resident Evil Requiem Ever Come to Xbox Game Pass?

There is no official confirmation either way, however the history of the Resident Evil series on Game Pass gives subscribers a reasonable reason to stay hopeful. Several major entries in the franchise have made their way to Xbox Game Pass after their initial release windows, including Resident Evil Village, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Resident Evil 2 Remake, and Resident Evil 3 Remake. That is a strong track record from Capcom when it comes to eventually bringing the series to subscription services.

Based on that pattern, a Game Pass addition somewhere between six and twelve months after launch is a realistic possibility. However, it is not guaranteed, and Capcom has not hinted at a timeline. So if you are comfortable waiting, there is a reasonable chance patience pays off. However, if Raccoon City is calling your name today, a full purchase is currently your only route in.

What Is Resident Evil Requiem About?

Resident Evil Requiem follows two playable characters whose stories and gameplay styles weave together across the game. FBI analyst Grace Ashcroft investigates her mother’s mysterious death, while veteran agent Leon S. Kennedy uncovers a new bioterror threat spreading through the Midwest. Both characters return players to Raccoon City, the site of the catastrophic 1998 bioweapon disaster that defined the series.

The game also introduces seamless switching between first person and third person perspectives, a series first that lets players adjust their experience depending on how much of the horror they want to see up close.

Can You Play Resident Evil Requiem on GeForce NOW?

Yes. For PC players who prefer cloud streaming, Resident Evil Requiem arrives on GeForce NOW today alongside its global launch. NVIDIA also announced a limited time bundle pairing the game with a 12 month Ultimate membership to mark GeForce NOW’s sixth anniversary. The Ultimate tier streams the game with GeForce RTX 5080 class performance, full path tracing, ray traced reflections, up to 5K resolution with HDR, and NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation.

Should You Buy Resident Evil Requiem Now or Wait?

That decision comes down to how long you are willing to hold out. If you are a Game Pass subscriber on a budget, the series history suggests a subscription release could arrive eventually. However, there is no guarantee and no timeline to point to right now. On the other hand, if survival horror is your thing and you have $69.99 ready to go, Resident Evil Requiem launches today on Xbox Series X/S with full next-gen capabilities and no waiting required.
