With the ARIRANG World Tour at full swing and the commitments of compensating for almost a four-year-long hiatus, BTS is constantly traveling since their comeback in March 2026.
While this comeback has rewarded the K-pop group with overwhelming love and support from fans throughout the world, including the US & UK, there is a dark side to it as well.

So, What Exactly Did V Ask For?
On July 1, V posted directly to Weverse Moment, the feature where messages vanish after 24 hours. It is almost like a diary entry meant to be read once and then let go. In this entry, V thanked fans for showing up for BTS the way they always do. And then made one specific, gentle request: please stop coming to the hotels where the group is staying.
“I’m truly grateful for everyone who comes to support us, but if possible, I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t come all the way to the hotel,” he wrote.
The phrasing of his words was polite, but they shed light on the underlying cost of fame and success that an artist endures.

Taehyung took this opportunity to explain that when fans track down and show up at his hotel, it actually gets in the way of him preparing for the show that night. The request made by the artist is quite reasonable since constant traveling itself takes a toll on health. And then adding the rehearsals & preparations to the mix is enough to deal with. What is Taehyung Missing Out On?
The part of V’s message that hits hardest might not even be about performing. He talked about how precious his free time on tour actually is, the rare chance to just walk around a new city, grab food somewhere local, and feel like a regular person for twenty minutes. That is such a small thing to want, and yet it is exactly what disappears the moment fans find out which hotel he is in.

This Isn’t Happening In A Vacuum
V’s request comes at a moment when BigHit Music has been visibly ramping up its fight to protect the group’s privacy and safety. Just days earlier, on June 29, the label put out a statement laying out its ongoing legal action against what it called malicious online behavior targeting BTS.
“We are continuously taking legal action against illegal activities such as defamation, insults, sexual harassment, and malicious slander that infringe on BTS’s rights,” the company said.
The statement also revealed something far more serious than most fans probably realized was happening: a stalking case involving someone who had actually broken into a BTS member, Jungkook’s residence, and repeatedly stalked him. According to BigHit, a bench warrant was issued, the individual spent roughly three months in detention during trial, and the court ultimately sentenced them to one year in prison with a two-year suspended sentence, citing how serious the crime was.
BigHit was blunt about how far this policy extends too. “If a foreigner receives criminal punishment for trespassing or stalking, they may face forced repatriation to their home country and a ban on entering South Korea,” the label stated. So this is not just a message about hotel visits but a part of a much bigger, ongoing effort to keep the group safe while they are literally the most visible people in almost every city they visit.
It would have been easy for V to say nothing and just push through. Instead, he chose to be honest about what touring actually costs him: sleep, privacy, and those tiny normal moments most people take for granted.
