During Tokyo Game Show (TGS) 2025, Capcom unveiled an extended release date trailer for Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, offering fans a deeper look at the upcoming RPG’s story, characters, and gameplay. The title is officially set to launch worldwide on March 13, 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam.

The new trailer, which expands on footage first shown during September’s Nintendo Direct, highlights dramatic story beats while teasing new gameplay mechanics. Fans were also treated to a glimpse of Rey Dau from Monster Hunter Wilds, confirming crossover elements within the spin-off series.

Expanding the World of Monster Hunter Stories

Directed by Kenji Oguro, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection introduces players to a narrative set amid rising tensions between the kingdoms of Azuria and Vermeil. A mysterious environmental phenomenon known as the Crystal Encroachment disrupts ecosystems, while a powerful artifact called the Egg Quartz emerges as a focal point of conflict.

Players step into the role of Azuria’s heir, a skilled Ranger and Rathalos Rider, tasked with investigating these disturbances and protecting endangered monsters. The story further deepens when Eleanor, Princess of Vermeil, allies with the protagonist, adding political intrigue to the unfolding events.

Gameplay Innovations and New Features

Capcom confirmed that the adventure will allow players to freely explore environments by climbing, flying, and riding Monsties. These Riding Actions also integrate into combat, creating seamless transitions between exploration and battle.

A standout new feature is Synchro Rush, a mechanic enabling the player’s full party to combine forces for devastating coordinated attacks. Alongside returning monsters, the game introduces Chatacabra and Rey Dau, expanding the bestiary with fresh challenges.
