The Ether Rest Abyss puzzle in Crimson Desert does not ease you in gently. You are dealing with a rotating room, a Power Core you need to carry through fan sections, and a final activation sequence that gives no hint of what skill it wants from you. Most players stall at the Power Core step simply because nobody told them the Kuku Pot changes everything. This guide covers every step in order so you can clear it without reloading a save or falling off the Abyss island and losing your progress entirely.
Before You Start Ether Rest Abyss Puzzle: Requirements and Access
Ether Rest sits in the Sleet Isles of the Abyss and is not accessible from the start. You first need to fully complete the Spire of Ringing Truth, including defeating the Priscus the Ancient boss, which then unlocks the Abyss Gate leading to Ether Rest.

| Detail | Info |
| Location | Sleet Isles, The Abyss |
| Access Requirement | Complete Spire of Ringing Truth (including Priscus the Ancient) |
| Required Skills | Nature’s Grasp, Flight, Axiom Force, Force Palm |
| Recommended Skills | Double Jump, Aerial Force Palm |
| Required Item | Kuku Pot |
| Rewards | Fast Travel Teleport, Abyss Artifact x1 |
Critical: Bring the Kuku Pot before entering. Without it, carrying the Power Core through the fan sections is extremely punishing. Also save your game frequently, especially before the fan climb sections, since falling into the Abyss can send you all the way back.
Ether Rest Abyss Puzzle: Step-by-Step Solution

Step 1: Reach the Central Tower
Step onto the fan in front of you and use Flight to travel to the next fan to the east. Continue toward the two fans further east, moving upward as you go. When you reach the platform with the fan near the central tower, use it to reach the tower. However, the tower rotates, so wait for the opening to come around to you before entering.

Step 2: Open the Cage and Reach the Next Level
Once inside, use Axiom Force on the dial at the top of the cage and rotate it to open the cage. Use the fan inside to float upward to the next level. Drop when you see the pillars in the wall to land correctly on the platform.

Step 3: The Rotating Room Puzzle
Look for a large hole in the wall. Use Nature’s Grasp to lift the slab covering it, then use Axiom Force on the yellow circle on the wall behind the slab you just lifted. This triggers the room rotation mechanic.

Step 4: Find the Exit and Fly Up
Pull the slab to the left until a hole appears beneath it, then crawl through. On the other side, look south for the only fan without a grate above it. Use your Flight skill on that fan to travel upward.
Key Detail: Every other fan has a grate blocking it. The open one faces south, so check your orientation if you are struggling to spot it.
Step 5: Collect the Power Core
While in mid-air, use Axiom Force to launch yourself toward the next platform, which also has a fan. Continue upward through the fan sections until you spot a blue cube called Power Core: Gate of Collapse.
Here is the exact process for collecting it correctly:
- Use Axiom Force to grab the Power Core
- While holding it, press △ (PS5) / Y (Xbox) to seal it directly into the Kuku Pot
- Do this before attempting to navigate the next fan sections
Note: If you skip the seal step and try to carry the Power Core by hand through the fans, it becomes extremely difficult to manage. Sealing it into the Kuku Pot first is the intended method and makes the next section far more manageable.
Step 6: Place the Power Core in the Blue Room
Head to the top of the turbine into the blue room. You will see two stone blocks, one already occupied by a Power Core and one empty. To place yours:
- Open your inventory
- Find the Power Core: Gate of Collapse inside the Kuku Pot
- Select it and choose Discard to place it onto the empty block
Once both blocks are occupied and crackling with electricity, the large central fan activates and launches you upward. Ignore the block that already has a Power Core on it and only interact with the empty one.
Step 7: Reach the Upper Level
Use Double Jump combined with triple Aerial Force Palm and Axiom Force to reach the upper level where the massive fan sits on the wall. Alternatively, climbing the spiral wires is a more controlled route if you prefer to manage your stamina carefully. Keep an eye on stamina and skill cooldowns throughout this section, as the upward climb is the most demanding part of the puzzle.
Step 8: Activate the Abyss Nexus and Collect Your Reward

Look east and climb up the window. Use Flight to soar across to the large circular device. Grip the wall using L2 (PS5) / LT (Xbox), then use Force Palm on the circular activation device. Head up to the platform above to collect the Abyss Artifact and complete Ether Rest.
Full Step Summary

Getting to Frostbitten Paradise After Ether Rest
Once you collect the Abyss Artifact, here is the exact route to reach Frostbitten Paradise:
- Go behind the platform and pass through the triangular gate
- Use Axiom Force to rotate the grey pillar
- Follow the path along the platforms until you reach the propeller platform
- Stand underneath the propeller and use Nature’s Snare on it to power the fan boat
- The boat activates and carries you across to the next area
Nature’s Snare Not Unlocked Yet? Players confirm you can triple jump and glide across using stamina and a stamina-restoring tea if you have not unlocked the skill or lack sufficient skill points yet.
Xbox Controller Bug: Nature’s Snare and similar abilities are bugged on wireless Xbox controllers for many players. Plugging your controller in via cable is the confirmed workaround.
