Beast of Reincarnation Kicks Off August With a Massive Day-One Launch
The month begins with one of the biggest surprises of the year.
Launching on August 4, Beast of Reincarnation arrives as a day-one release for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers.
If the name Game Freak instantly makes you think of Pokémon, prepare to throw those expectations out the window. Instead of turn-based monster battles, the studio is delivering a completely different experience with a brutal action RPG centered around fast-paced melee combat, dangerous enemies, sprawling environments, and a mysterious world built around the legendary Beast of Reincarnation.

More Xbox Game Pass Day One Announcements Are Still on the Way
Even with five confirmed additions, this isn’t the complete Xbox Game Pass Day One lineup for August 2026.
Microsoft traditionally reveals Game Pass games in multiple announcement waves throughout each month. The company usually unveils an initial batch at the beginning of the month before following up with another round of additions in the middle or latter half of the month. That means more games are still expected to be announced as August continues.
As of August 2026, the games listed above are the officially confirmed August additions, but subscribers should keep an eye on Microsoft’s next Game Pass update, as another announcement could significantly expand the lineup.
If this first wave is any indication, August is shaping up to be one of the strongest Game Pass months of the year. From blockbuster day-one launches and beloved retro FPS classics to roguelike survival, deep automation simulators, and cinematic adventures, there’s already plenty to fill your download queue.
Note: Grave Seasons was originally expected to launch as a day-one Xbox Game Pass title in August 2026. However, the developers later delayed the game to Fall 2026 to allow additional development and polish across all announced platforms. It has therefore been removed from the August release lineup.
