The Pokémon GO March 2026 Community Day is almost here, and this month’s featured Pokémon is Scorbunny, the energetic Fire-type Rabbit Pokémon from the Galar region. Whether you are hunting for a Shiny Scorbunny, stocking up on Candy for its evolutions, or making the most of the event bonuses, here is everything officially confirmed by Niantic about the March Community Day.
When Is the Pokémon GO March 2026 Community Day?
The Pokémon GO Scorbunny Community Day takes place on Saturday, March 14, 2026, running from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM local time. The event uses your local timezone, so the three-hour window applies wherever you are playing in the world.
However, several bonuses extend beyond the core event hours. Lure Module bonuses, the Special Trade allowance, and the Stardust trade discount all remain active from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM local time, giving you a longer window to take advantage of those specific perks even after Scorbunny’s increased spawns wind down.
Who Is the Featured Pokémon?

Scorbunny is the featured Pokémon for the March 2026 Community Day. During the event, Scorbunny will appear far more frequently in the wild than usual. If you are lucky, you may encounter a Shiny Scorbunny, and there is also a chance of finding one with a Special Background, which is a yearly cosmetic variation introduced in January 2026.
What Are the Exclusive Moves for March Community Day?
The March 2026 Community Day introduces two important moves for Cinderace, Scorbunny’s final evolution.
Blast Burn is the Community Day exclusive Charged Attack. To get a Cinderace that knows Blast Burn, you need to evolve Raboot, which is Scorbunny’s first evolution, into Cinderace during the event or within four hours after it ends. That gives you until 9:00 PM local time to complete the evolution and secure this move.
Pyro Ball is a newly added Charged Attack that becomes permanently available to Cinderace starting from this event and continuing after it. Its stats are as follows:
- Trainer Battles: 75 power
- Gyms and Raids: 150 power
So even if you already have a Cinderace in your collection, this event gives you the opportunity to teach it Pyro Ball going forward.

Tickets are nonrefundable subject to applicable law and the Terms of Service.
It is also worth noting that this Special Research does not include an in-game medal and does not feature a story.
Community Day Ultra Box
A Community Day Ultra Box is available in the Pokémon GO Web Store for US$1.99, or the equivalent pricing in your local currency. This bundle includes an event ticket and five Ultra Balls, making it a convenient option if you want both the Special Research and some extra Poké Balls in one purchase.
Field Research Tasks
March Community Day-specific Field Research tasks will be available during the event. Catching Scorbunny through these tasks rewards items such as Stardust, Ultra Balls, and additional Scorbunny encounters. Some Field Research tasks may even lead to encounters with a Scorbunny that has a Special Background.
How to Make the Most of the March Community Day
Here are a few practical tips to help you get the most out of the Scorbunny Community Day based on what is confirmed:
- Prioritise the Egg Hatch bonus. The 1/4 hatch distance bonus only applies to Eggs you place into Incubators during the event window. Eggs already in Incubators before the event starts will not benefit from the reduced distance. Load up your Incubators right as the event begins and try to squeeze one more Egg in before the 5:00 PM close.
- Use Lure Modules strategically. With Lure Modules lasting a full hour and Scorbunny spawning at high rates near active Lures even after 5:00 PM, placing one at a busy PokéStop near others extends your catching window well into the evening.
- Evolve before the deadline. You have until 9:00 PM local time to evolve Raboot into Cinderace and receive Blast Burn. Do not rush the evolution during the busiest part of the event. Sort through your catches after 5:00 PM and pick the Scorbunny with the best IVs before you evolve.
- Stock up on Pinap Berries. The 2x Candy bonus makes Pinap Berries especially effective during Community Day. Using one on each catch doubles the already doubled Candy, which helps you power up Cinderace or evolve multiples for Shiny hunting purposes.
- Take a Snapshot. Niantic has confirmed that taking a Snapshot during Community Day will trigger a surprise encounter, so make sure you open Go Snapshot at least once during the event.
- Find other Trainers. Community Day is one of the best times to coordinate Raids and Trades with other players. You can use Niantic’s Community Day map and the Campfire app to locate Community Ambassador events and popular parks near you. Checking in at a Community Ambassador event also unlocks Timed Research that leads to additional encounters with Scorbunny that have a Special Background.
Is Cinderace Worth Powering Up?
Cinderace does not currently hold a significant place in the Pokémon GO meta for standard battles. However, its Gigantamax form is considered one of the strongest Gigantamax Pokémon available. If you have been waiting for a reason to build up your Cinderace, this Community Day provides an ideal combination of high Scorbunny Candy income and the addition of Pyro Ball as a permanently learnable move. Scorbunny typically has low spawn rates as a starter Pokémon, so the boosted spawns during this event make it the easiest time to gather the Candy you need.
