You cannot brute-force this quest by searching every wall. The game expects you to notice what changes after each correct interaction.

How Progression Actually Works

The quest begins when you interact with the first graffiti near your sleeping area. This interaction activates the system that drives the entire quest.

After each correct graffiti:

Bloody footprints appear on the ground.
These footprints lead directly to the next valid graffiti.
No other graffiti will register until you follow the trail correctly.

If you stop following the footprints or try to jump ahead, progress halts. The game does not warn you when this happens.

This single mechanic explains why many players get stuck at two or three out of six.

Where the Quest Starts?

The starting point sits close to your sleeping space.

Look at the wall opposite your tent or bed. Use your torch if lighting is low. Once you interact with this first graffiti, the footprint trail spawns and the quest officially begins.
