Will Forza Horizon 6 Be on Game Pass?

Forza Horizon 6 Toyota GR GT Prototype in Japan on Xbox Game Pass day one.

Forza Horizon 6 lands as one of Xbox’s most anticipated racing games, and if you rely on Game Pass, one question matters more than any other. Will you get to play it through your subscription on day one, or will you need to buy it separately?

The good news is that Forza Horizon 6 will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. However, there is a layer of nuance around the game’s features, especially if you want early access, premium content, or cross-platform flexibility.

This guide breaks it down clearly so you know exactly what to expect before release day.

Day-One Game Pass Availability Confirmed

Microsoft has confirmed that Forza Horizon 6 launches on May 19, 2026, and Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass members can play it the same day at no additional cost.

If you already subscribe, you can download and play the full Standard Edition as soon as the game unlocks. You do not need to preorder or upgrade just to access the core experience.

This approach follows Microsoft’s established pattern with first-party titles. Previous entries in the series, including Forza Horizon 5, also launched directly into Game Pass, and Horizon 6 continues that strategy.

Which Game Pass Plans Include Forza Horizon 6?

You can play Forza Horizon 6 through the following subscriptions:

  • Xbox Game Pass Ultimate
  • PC Game Pass

With these plans, you can access the game on:

  • Xbox Series X|S
  • Windows PC
  • Cloud gaming on supported devices
  • Supported gaming handhelds

Thanks to Xbox Play Anywhere, buying the game digitally also grants access on both Xbox and PC, though Game Pass already covers that for subscribers.

What You Get on Game Pass and What You Don’t

Game Pass includes the Standard Edition of Forza Horizon 6. That means you get the full open-world racing experience set in Japan, access to over 550 cars, the complete campaign, and multiplayer features.

What you do not get automatically:

  • Early access before May 19
  • Car Pass vehicles
  • Expansion packs
  • VIP Membership perks

Those extras belong to the Deluxe and Premium tiers.

Can Game Pass Players Get Early Access?

Yes, but not for free.

Forza Horizon 6 offers four-day early access starting May 15, but only through the Premium Edition or the Premium Upgrade Bundle.

If you use Game Pass and want early access plus all premium content, the Premium Upgrade Bundle lets you keep your subscription and unlock everything extra for a one-time cost. This option works well if you plan to stay subscribed long-term.

Why Microsoft Puts Forza Horizon 6 on Game Pass

Forza Horizon represents one of Xbox’s strongest franchises. Launching it on Game Pass drives engagement, strengthens the ecosystem, and gives players instant access without a $70 barrier.

For you, this means lower risk and immediate entry into one of the biggest racing games of the generation. You can try it, stick with it, or walk away without buyer’s remorse.

What About Other Platforms?

Forza Horizon 6 launches first on Xbox Series X|S and PC. A PlayStation 5 version is planned, but Microsoft has not announced a release date yet. Game Pass does not apply outside the Xbox ecosystem, so PlayStation players will need to purchase the game separately when it arrives.
