Will Cairn Join PS Plus Anytime Soon?

A character in Cairn climbs a steep rocky cliff overlooking a vast mountain range.

Players drawn to Cairn’s quiet intensity often ask the same question once the climb begins to look tempting. Will Cairn be available on PlayStation Plus, or does it require a full purchase? Here is a clear, grounded look at where things stand right now, based only on confirmed information.

Where Cairn Stands at Launch

Cairn launched on January 29, 2026, arriving on PlayStation 5 and Windows PC. The Game Bakers released it as a premium single player experience, not tied to any subscription service at launch. As of early February 2026, neither Sony nor the developer has announced any plans to include Cairn in PlayStation Plus.

That means Cairn does not appear in the current PS Plus monthly games lineup. It also does not sit inside the PS Plus Extra or Premium game catalogs. Players who want to experience Mount Kami today need to purchase the game directly from the PlayStation Store.

PS Plus Discounts Do Not Mean PS Plus Access

Some confusion comes from the small discount PS Plus members receive when buying Cairn. Subscribers can save a percentage on both the Standard and Deluxe Editions for a limited time. This discount applies only to the purchase price. It does not grant access to the game through a PS Plus tier.

This distinction matters. A PS Plus discount signals a promotional offer, not inclusion in the subscription library. At present, Cairn remains a standalone purchase even for active subscribers.

How PS Plus Usually Handles New Indie Games

PlayStation Plus often adds indie titles well after their initial release window. Many games appear months or even years later, once sales slow and broader exposure becomes valuable. That pattern creates hope, but it does not confirm anything.

For Cairn, no official roadmap exists for PS Plus inclusion. Until Sony or The Game Bakers shares a statement, the game remains outside all PS Plus offerings.

What to Expect If You Want to Play on PS5?

If Cairn sits high on your wishlist, the only confirmed way to play it on PlayStation 5 right now is through a direct purchase. The PlayStation Store offers both editions, offline play, full DualSense support, and a limited time PS Plus discount.

A future PS Plus release remains possible, but speculation alone should not drive expectations. For now, Cairn stands as a premium climbing adventure you buy, not one you download through a subscription.
