A DoorDash delivery that should have been completely routine took a disturbing turn for a Houston family on August 24, 2026. Kiante Matlock was inside his northeast Houston home near the Homestead area with his daughter when a notification arrived saying their food had been delivered. What happened when he checked the Ring camera was something he never expected to see at his front door.
The security footage appeared to show the DoorDash driver delivering the family’s Burger King order while completely naked. Matlock said he initially thought the person might be wearing a onesie, only to realize that the driver was not wearing clothes at all. The driver left before Matlock reached the door, and DoorDash later refunded the order and permanently removed the driver’s access to its platform.

Houston father sees allegedly naked DoorDash driver on Ring camera
The strange DoorDash incident began like any other delivery.
Matlock told FOX 26 Houston that he was inside playing a video game while his daughter was also at home. When she noticed the delivery notification on his phone, Matlock checked the Ring doorbell camera before heading outside to collect the food.
That quick decision to look at the camera first revealed something deeply unexpected.
On the footage, Matlock saw the delivery driver standing outside his home without any clothes on. He initially struggled to understand what he was seeing.
“I look out and say ‘does he got a onesie on’,” Matlock said. “So I open the camera and look, and he’s completely naked.”
The driver had already placed the food at the residence and was heading back toward the vehicle by the time Matlock realized what had happened.
Matlock said that he normally tries to collect his food quickly rather than allowing it to sit outside. On this occasion, however, the unusual circumstances meant the driver was already gone when he reached the front door.
“By the time I got to the front. He was already gone, you know, because I like, you know I usually wait for the food so it don’t sit outside. But you know that night was different,” he said.
The order was reportedly from Burger King. Although the food had apparently been delivered, Matlock said he decided not to eat it after seeing the footage.
The incident therefore wasn’t simply about an unexpected sight at the front door. For Matlock, the situation raised questions about someone handling food intended for a household while allegedly being completely unclothed.

Why the Houston DoorDash delivery left the family uncomfortable
Matlock said he regularly uses DoorDash, making the experience even more unusual because he had no reason to anticipate anything different about this particular delivery.
His concern also extended beyond his own reaction to the driver.
He pointed out that the person answering the door could have been a child, a woman or another member of the household who might have been confronted directly by the driver’s alleged nudity.
“I didn’t expect nobody to drop my food off naked, which is crazy,” he said.
“And then to handle somebody’s food, like it’s already a lot going on, and then for you to, you know, pull something like that is ridiculous. It could have been an underage child coming to the door or a woman. You exposed out like that. I mean, it’s just sick.”
The driver’s identity has not been publicly disclosed in the reporting available about the incident.
That distinction is important because, while the Ring footage and Matlock’s account describe what allegedly happened, the available reports do not establish additional facts about the driver’s identity, motive or intent.

DoorDash permanently bans driver after Houston naked delivery report
Once DoorDash was made aware of what had happened, the company took action against the driver.
After FOX 26 Houston contacted DoorDash, a company spokesperson condemned the alleged conduct and confirmed that the driver’s access to the platform had been permanently removed.
“What this consumer experienced was abhorrent, and we’ve reached out directly to offer our support. This man’s behavior was vulgar and completely unacceptable, and as soon as we were made aware, our team permanently removed their access to our platform. We do not tolerate sexual harassment or misconduct of any kind, and we stand ready to assist law enforcement with any investigation.”
DoorDash also refunded Matlock’s order.
The company said complaints made through its app are reviewed by its Trust & Safety team and described the reported conduct as a violation of its community guidelines.
The platform’s guidelines emphasize respectful behaviour and safety. They also prohibit inappropriate or sexual physical contact and conduct that could create a risk of physical or emotional harm.
For customers, the company’s guidance is straightforward: concerning or inappropriate behaviour during a delivery should be reported through the DoorDash app. Customers who feel unsafe can contact local law enforcement, while anyone facing immediate danger should call 911.

What Houston police advised after the Ring camera incident
The situation also prompted questions about what homeowners should do when a delivery driver behaves in a disturbing or inappropriate way outside their property.
FOX 26 contacted the Houston Police Department for guidance.
Police advised residents to report concerning incidents and preserve whatever evidence may be available. That can include Ring doorbell recordings, security-camera footage or other surveillance video.
Such recordings can potentially help investigators establish what happened and identify the person involved. They can also become important if authorities need to determine whether the conduct meets the legal requirements of a criminal offence.
However, police did not publicly confirm that the DoorDash driver in Matlock’s case had been arrested or charged.
That means the distinction between disturbing behaviour and a legally established offence remains important.

Could a naked delivery driver face criminal charges in Texas?
The unusual incident also raises a legal question: can being naked outside someone’s home amount to a crime in Texas?
Under Texas Penal Code Section 21.08, indecent exposure involves exposing one’s anus or any part of one’s genitals with the intent to arouse or gratify sexual desire while being reckless about whether another person is present who would be offended or alarmed.
A first offence is generally classified as a Class B misdemeanor, although the law provides for more serious classifications in certain repeat-offender circumstances.
But there is an important legal caveat in this particular case.
The publicly available reporting does not establish the driver’s intent. Simply being allegedly naked during a delivery does not automatically prove every element required for an indecent-exposure charge.
Authorities would need to examine the available evidence and circumstances, including questions surrounding intent and awareness of other people.
For that reason, the incident should not be presented as a confirmed criminal offence unless law enforcement or prosecutors establish that the conduct violated a specific Texas statute.
More Legal Questions Still Unresolved: Whether an incident meets the bar for criminal charges keeps surfacing as an open question in local reporting. For more, read our story on 17-year-old Sarah Santiago facing murder charges from hundreds of miles away in the San Diego mosque shooting.
At the time covered by the reporting, there was no public confirmation of an arrest or criminal charge connected to Matlock’s delivery.
Kiante Matlock’s warning for DoorDash customers
After the bizarre delivery, Matlock said he wanted other customers to be more cautious when accepting deliveries.
His advice was simple: stay aware of what is happening outside your home and, where possible, use security cameras to document unexpected incidents.
“If you have the opportunity to go get your own food, go get your own food,” he said. “But if you can’t, I guess just be careful and get you some cameras, that’s all I can say.”
The Ring footage became a key part of the account because Matlock was able to see what happened without having to encounter the driver directly.
For delivery customers, the episode also highlights why security cameras can provide useful evidence when something unusual occurs around a property. In a situation involving potentially inappropriate behaviour, preserving the original footage rather than deleting it can be particularly important if authorities become involved.
What happens next in the Houston DoorDash case?
For now, the most significant confirmed response is from DoorDash itself.
The company refunded Matlock’s order and permanently removed the driver’s access to its platform after learning about the incident. DoorDash also said it would assist law enforcement if an investigation took place.
The driver’s identity has not been publicly revealed in the available reports, and there was no publicly confirmed arrest or criminal charge as of September 3, 2026.
That leaves the legal question open while the reported facts remain relatively clear: Matlock says his Ring camera captured a DoorDash driver allegedly delivering his Burger King order while naked, the family chose not to eat the food, DoorDash issued a refund, and the company permanently banned the driver from using its platform.
What began as an ordinary food delivery therefore ended with a security-camera recording, a company investigation and a permanent platform ban—while any potential criminal consequences remain a matter for law enforcement and prosecutors to determine.
