SEGA has confirmed a notable shift in how players can access Yakuza 3 Remastered. With the release of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties approaching, the standalone digital version of Yakuza 3 Remastered will soon disappear from online storefronts. Once this change takes effect, the game will only be available through the Yakuza Complete Series bundle.
When Standalone Sales Will End
Standalone digital sales of Yakuza 3 Remastered will stop on February 12, the same day Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties launches. Until then, you can still purchase the game individually for $19.99 on PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, GOG, Humble Store, and the Microsoft Store.
After that date, new buyers will need to opt for the larger bundle to experience the remastered version of Kazuma Kiryu’s Okinawa chapter.
What the Complete Series Bundle Includes
The Yakuza Complete Series bundle offers a full narrative journey through the franchise’s mainline entries. It includes:
- Yakuza 0 Director’s Cut
- Yakuza Kiwami
- Yakuza Kiwami 2
- Yakuza 3 Remastered
- Yakuza 4 Remastered
- Yakuza 5 Remastered
- Yakuza 6: The Song of Life
The bundle is available digitally on PlayStation, Xbox, and PC for $129.99. While the price reflects the scope of content, it represents a higher barrier for players who only want a single entry.
Options for Physical Collectors
If you prefer physical media, PlayStation players still have an alternative. The Yakuza Remastered Collection remains available at select retailers for around $29.99. This physical set includes Yakuza 3, 4, and 5 Remastered on disc, provided it remains in print.
This option offers a more accessible route for players interested specifically in the middle arc of the series.
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio Addresses the Change
Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio shared a message reassuring fans that existing owners will retain full access to Yakuza 3 Remastered. The studio emphasized its commitment to creative direction and expressed gratitude for community support as it prepares for the launch of Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties.
If you already own the remaster, nothing changes. If you are new to the series and want to experience the original version of Yakuza 3, the Complete Series bundle will become the only digital path forward.
What This Means for You
This move signals a growing trend toward curated franchise bundles rather than standalone legacy releases. If Yakuza 3 Remastered sits on your backlog, now is the time to decide how you want to access it. After February 12, individual digital purchases will no longer be an option.
