How to Get Voidheart in Hytale

Voidheart is an epic-tier crafting material in Hytale that plays a critical role in late-game progression. You cannot mine or craft it through standard workstations. Instead, you must obtain Voidhearts through combat by defeating specific enemies tied to the Void. Because Voidheart unlocks access to higher-tier armor and weapons, learning how to farm it efficiently saves a significant amount of time.

This guide explains where Voidhearts come from, which enemies drop them, and how to collect them reliably.

What Voidheart Is Used For

Voidheart is required to upgrade the Armorer’s Workbench to Tier 2. This upgrade unlocks the ability to craft Adamantite and Mithril gear. Without Voidhearts, your equipment progression stops at mid-tier armor, making the item essential rather than optional.

You need three Voidhearts to complete the Armorer’s Workbench upgrade. Using them elsewhere offers no benefit.

When You Should Start Farming Voidhearts

Void enemies can spawn early in the game, but farming Voidhearts too soon leads to unnecessary deaths and slow progress. You should equip iron-tier armor and weapons before actively hunting Void enemies. These enemies deal heavy damage and often appear in groups, especially during nighttime.

Voidhearts only drop at night, so daytime exploration will not help with farming.

Where to Find Void Enemies

Void enemies spawn across multiple zones and are not locked to late-game areas. Zone placement does not affect drop rates. However, Zone 3 offers the most efficient farming conditions due to open terrain and higher enemy visibility.

Flat icy biomes in Zone 3 work best because glowing enemies stand out clearly at night, allowing you to engage selectively and avoid being surrounded. Forests and narrow valleys reduce visibility and increase risk.

Void Enemies That Drop Voidheart

All Void-aligned enemies have a chance to drop Voidhearts, but not all offer the same reliability. The following enemies can drop Voidhearts, listed from lowest to highest effectiveness:

Void Larva
Void Crawler
Void Spectre
Void Spawn
Void Eye

Void Eye and Void Spawn provide the best drop consistency. Void Eyes are flying enemies with glowing eyes that appear at night, often hovering above skeletal Void Crawlers. Their visibility and drop rate make them the most efficient targets.

Understanding Voidheart Drop Rates

Voidhearts share a loot pool with Essence of the Void, which means most kills reward essence instead of a Voidheart. Drop rates remain low regardless of zone, biome, or time spent in one location.

Enemy difficulty matters more than location. Stronger Void enemies drop Voidhearts more often than weaker variants, though no enemy guarantees a drop.

Best Way to Farm Voidhearts Efficiently

To farm Voidhearts consistently, wait for nightfall in Zone 3 and move through open terrain rather than staying in one spot. Actively traveling between enemy clusters increases spawn encounters during a single night cycle.

Prioritize Void Eyes and Void Spawn whenever possible. Clear nearby Void Crawlers to avoid interference during fights. Avoid standing still and waiting for enemies to appear, as roaming produces better results.

A realistic goal is defeating five to ten Void enemies per night. This approach balances efficiency with survival and yields steady Voidheart gains over time.

How to Use Voidheart

Once you collect three Voidhearts, open your Armorer’s Workbench and upgrade it to Tier 2. This upgrade unlocks Adamantite and Mithril armor and weapon recipes, marking your transition into late-game content.

Do not hold onto Voidhearts after reaching the required amount. Upgrading the workbench immediately provides long-term benefits with no downside.
