How to Get Tissue Sample in Terraria

Some materials in Terraria mark your real entry into biome progression. Tissue Samples belong to that group. When you step into a Crimson world and aim for Crimson gear, this material becomes essential. You do not stumble on it in chests or buy it from NPCs. You earn it through combat in the Crimson.

What Is a Tissue Sample

A Tissue Sample is a consumable crafting material with rarity level 1. It stacks up to 999 and sells for 1 silver 50 copper. Research requires 25 for duplication in Journey Mode.

Its role stays simple and important. It works with Crimtane Bars to craft Crimtane tools and the Crimson armor set. If you want to follow the Crimson progression path, you need this item.

The Two Reliable Sources

You can get Tissue Samples in two direct ways.

1) From Creepers

Creepers serve as the primary farming source.

Drop amount: 2 to 5
Drop rate: 66.67%

Creepers appear during the Brain of Cthulhu fight. When you defeat them, they often drop Tissue Samples. This makes the boss fight a natural farming opportunity.

2) From the Brain of Cthulhu Treasure Bag

In Expert and Master Mode, the Brain of Cthulhu drops a Treasure Bag. That bag contains Tissue Samples. This gives you another guaranteed source tied to the same boss.

In short, if you want Tissue Samples, you fight the Brain of Cthulhu and its Creepers.

To craft one of each related item, you need:

126 Tissue Samples on some modes
61 Tissue Samples on others

This total shows that you rarely stop after one fight. You usually defeat the Brain of Cthulhu multiple times if you want a full set of gear and tools.

Tissue Samples act as the Crimson counterpart to Shadow Scales. Where Corruption worlds provide Shadow Scales, Crimson worlds provide Tissue Samples. Your world type decides which one you collect.
