In Arknights Endfield, your team defines how you move through the world, how fights unfold, and how flexible you remain when the game introduces new challenges. Unlike rigid squad systems found in traditional RPGs, Endfield treats team management as a living system. You adjust it as your understanding of the game deepens.
Changing your team does not require progression milestones or consumable resources. The game expects you to adapt. What matters is knowing where the system lives and how to use it without breaking your flow.
This guide explains how to change your team, when it matters most, and how the system fits into Endfield’s broader design.

What You Should Know Before Changing Your Team
A few core rules shape how team changes work in Endfield:
- You manage teams through the main menu, not during combat
- The Team Assembly screen controls your active squad
- Operators swap freely from your unlocked roster
- The game saves changes automatically when you exit
Once you understand these rules, team management becomes quick and intentional rather than disruptive.
Where Team Settings Can be Managed in Endfield
Endfield places all squad customization inside a single interface called Team Assembly. This screen shows your currently active operators and acts as the only place where you can make changes.

You cannot modify your team mid-fight, but the game gives you full control during exploration, before missions, and between objectives. This keeps combat focused while still allowing flexibility.
How to Change Your Team?
The process follows a consistent flow that becomes muscle memory after a few uses.
Open the Main Menu
While exploring the overworld, open the hub menu from the top-right corner of the screen or press Esc. This pauses gameplay and reveals all management systems.
Enter Team Assembly
Select Team Assembly from the menu list. This opens a snapshot of your current squad.

At this stage, the screen shows information only. You cannot make changes yet.
Activate Edit Mode
Select Edit Team at the bottom of the screen. This unlocks all editing controls. Many players miss this step and assume the system is unresponsive.
Remove an Operator
Select the operator you want to replace. This clears the slot without affecting the operator permanently. You can remove one member or rebuild the entire squad.
Add a New Operator
Browse your roster and select the operator you want to assign. Confirm the selection to fill the open slot. Repeat until the team looks the way you want.

Exit to Apply Changes
Leave the Team Assembly screen. The game applies changes instantly with no confirmation prompt.
Understanding the Team Assembly Screen
Team Assembly acts as your strategic overview. It shows:
- Active operators and available slots
- Operator portraits and role indicators
- Edit and navigation controls
The layout prioritizes clarity. You see what matters without digging through submenus, which reinforces quick decision-making.
