Konami has unveiled the official launch trailer for Silent Hill f, giving fans a final haunting look at the franchise’s long-awaited return before its worldwide release on September 25, 2025.
The new trailer highlights the game’s central protagonist, Hinako Shimizu, whose quiet life in the fictional Japanese town of Ebisugaoka is consumed by an otherworldly fog. What begins as silence quickly devolves into psychological horror, forcing Hinako to solve puzzles, confront grotesque plant-like monsters, and make choices that blur the line between beauty and terror.
A Return 13 Years in the Making
Silent Hill f marks the first mainline installment in the series since 2012, reimagining the franchise through a uniquely Japanese lens. Written by acclaimed visual novel creator Ryukishi07 (Higurashi, Umineko), the story weaves together folklore, social anxieties, and transformation with Silent Hill’s signature themes of dread and psychological tension.

Release Date and Platforms
The game launches globally on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Epic Games Store). No Nintendo Switch 2 version has been announced. Release timings vary by region, with North America seeing a September 24 midnight launch (EDT), while players in Asia and Australia will gain access later that same day.
Players who pre-ordered the Digital Deluxe Edition received 48-hour early access beginning September 22, along with bonuses including a digital artbook, soundtrack, and the Pink Rabbit Costume — a nod to the series’ history.
Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses
Two versions of Silent Hill f are available:
- Standard Edition – Base game with pre-order bonuses.
- Digital Deluxe Edition – Base game, 48-hour early access, artbook, soundtrack, and exclusive cosmetics.
Pre-order rewards include the White Sailor School Uniform for Hinako, a Peony-themed Omamori item, and an Item Pack.
Gameplay and Atmosphere
Set in 1960s rural Japan, the game emphasizes exploration, survival, and choice. Players can craft makeshift weapons, but are often encouraged to rely on stealth and evasion over direct combat. Puzzle-solving — inspired by folklore and psychological motifs — shapes multiple possible endings.
Konami has confirmed that the game requires Windows 11, 16GB RAM, and at least an NVIDIA GTX 1070 Ti or AMD RX 5700 on PC, with recommended specs calling for an RTX 2080 or RX 6800 XT.
Building Hype Ahead of Release
The launch trailer has already sparked strong fan reactions online, with many praising its unsettling imagery and calling it “the most brutal and scary Silent Hill trailer ever.” With the franchise’s first mainline release in 13 years, anticipation is mounting for what many expect to be a defining survival horror experience of the decade.
Silent Hill f will be available worldwide on September 25, 2025. For more information, visit the Silent Hill Official Website.
