Safes deliver top rewards in Resident Evil Requiem, and cracking all five will unlock the No Safe Is Safe trophy and achievement. Each safe requires a specific combination, with clues hidden in files scattered around the game. You can open any safe at any time as long as you have the right code. This guide covers every safe location, every combination, every reward, and the Insanity difficulty alternatives.
Important Notes Before You Start
There are a few things worth knowing before you go safe-hunting in Resident Evil Requiem.
There is no chapter select in the game, which means everything is missable. If you want to open every safe in a single playthrough, keep manual saves from each major area so you can return if needed.
The Basement safe also comes with a unique condition. Grace cannot find its combination file on her own, so Leon must use his Hatchet to pry open the warped cabinet in the Attic Storage area during his segment of the Care Center. Once he reads the file, Grace can access the combination through the shared inventory screen. If you miss it during Leon’s section, Grace cannot return to that part of the Basement after leaving.
On Insanity difficulty, all five safe combinations change. The file locations that contain the clues stay the same, but the codes themselves are completely different. The Insanity codes are listed separately at the bottom of this guide.

Safe 1: Bar and Lounge Safe (Care Center 2nd Floor)
Location: The Bar and Lounge on the second floor of the Care Center. The safe sits on the bar counter, behind the bar, to the right of the flower arrangement. You pass through this room naturally as part of story progression, though the room contains enemies including a zombie in a white dress.
How to Find the Clue: Find the Bar & Lounge Safe Code file on a desk in the West Wing 2F Office.
Combination: Left 10, Right 80, Left 30
To open it, turn the dial clockwise to 10, then spin it counterclockwise to 80, then turn it clockwise to 30. Press the Check button to open.
Rewards: 3x Antique Coins
Safe 2: Examination Room Safe (Care Center 1st Floor)
Location: Inside the Examination Room on the first floor of the Care Center’s East Wing. The safe sits in the far corner of the room inside a cabinet, near the corpse on the operating table.
How to Find the Clue: After encountering the Chunk enemy outside the Head Researcher’s Office, backtrack to the room where the Chunk first appeared. The Examination Room Safe Code file can be found in that room.
Combination: Right 30, Left 10, Right 50
To open it, spin the dial counterclockwise to 30, then turn it clockwise to 10, then spin it counterclockwise to 50.
Rewards: 3x Antique Coins
Safe 3: Basement Safe (Care Center Basement / Furnace Room)
Location: In the room near the Forklift in the Care Center Basement. To reach this room, either use a Joint Plug on the Furnace room door or access the crawlspace in the Workshop. The safe sits on a table in the side room to the right of the Forklift.
How to Find the Clue: Leon must pry open the warped cabinet in the Attic Storage using his Hatchet. The Basement Safe Code file is inside. Once Leon reads it, Grace can view the combination through the shared inventory screen. Grace cannot find this combination independently.
Combination: Right 60, Left 40, Right 80
To open it, spin the dial counterclockwise to 60, then turn it clockwise to 40, then spin it counterclockwise to 80.
Rewards: 10x Handgun Ammo, Raccoon Roundup Map (Rhodes Hill)
Note: The Raccoon Roundup Map automatically marks the locations of all Mr. Raccoon statues in the Care Center areas on your in-game map. However, you cannot return to the main Care Center after leaving, so any Mr. Raccoon statues you missed will have to wait for a second playthrough.
Safe 4: ARK Sterilization Chamber Safe (ARK Facility B2)
Location: On the counter in the northeast corner of the Sterilization Chamber, beneath the window overlooking Chemical Storage. The room contains Lickers, so approach carefully and quietly to avoid triggering them. The safe is also surrounded by broken glass, which creates noise if you step through it carelessly.
How to Find the Clue: Find the Sterilization Chamber Safe file in an open Umbrella-branded storage container south of Bioweapon Repository 05. You will likely come across the combination after you have already passed through the Sterilization Chamber, which means you will need to backtrack and deal with the Lickers again.
Combination: Right 10, Left 90, Right 20
To open it, spin the dial counterclockwise to 10, then turn it clockwise to 90, then spin it counterclockwise to 20.
Rewards: 15x Handgun Ammo, 1x Molotov Cocktail, 1x Med Injector
Safe 5: ARK Monitor Control Room Safe (ARK Facility B2)
Location: In the Monitor Control Room, which sits adjacent to the Lobby. The safe is on the bench against the back wall, next to an open steel case.
How to Find the Clue: Find the Monitor Control Room Safe file inside a storage container in Bioweapon Repository 05. To access it, use the switches on the sides of the containers to open them. Keep in mind that the northeastern container has a zombie waiting inside, and two patrolling Lickers are nearby, so clear the area carefully before retrieving the file.
Combination: Left 50, Right 60, Left 80
To open it, turn the dial clockwise to 50, then spin it counterclockwise to 60, then turn it clockwise to 80.
Rewards: 1x Med Injector, 1x Bottle of Acid, 1x Empty Bottle
The Waiting Room Safe: Already Open
There is also a safe behind the desk in the Waiting Room on the first floor of the Care Center. However, this safe is already pried open when you arrive. It contains 2x Antique Coins, but requires no combination to claim them. On Insanity difficulty, this safe is open but empty.
All Resident Evil Requiem Insanity Difficulty Safe Codes
On Insanity difficulty, all safe combinations change. The file locations remain the same, so the clues are still in the same places if you want to find them in-game. Here are all the Insanity mode codes:

How to Open a Safe in Resident Evil Requiem
Each safe uses a three-number rotary combination, and the direction you turn the dial is just as important as the numbers themselves, so follow the left and right instructions carefully.
Approach the safe and interact with it to bring up the lock dial. Spin the dial in the direction indicated until it reaches the first number, then spin it in the opposite direction until it reaches the second number, and finally spin it in the indicated direction once more until it reaches the third number. Press the Check button to open the safe. If the combination is wrong, the dial returns to its default position and you can try again with no penalty.
What to Do With Safe Rewards
The six Antique Coins from the Bar and Lounge and Examination Room safes, plus the two from the open Waiting Room safe, complete the Parlor slot machine puzzle in the Care Center. Solving the Parlor puzzle unlocks the S.T.A.F.F. upgrade, which boosts Grace’s knife damage and stealth capabilities.
The Basement safe’s Raccoon Roundup Map marks all Mr. Raccoon statues in the Rhodes Hill Care Center on your map. Make sure to collect them before you leave the Care Center, as doing so will progress you toward the Raccoon Wrangler trophy. This trophy requires all 25 Mr. Raccoon statues across the full game.
The ARK safes provide ammo, a Molotov Cocktail, Med Injectors, and crafting materials like Acid and Empty Bottles, all of which are worth stocking up on to help you survive tougher fights later.
Safe Hunting Tips
Keep manual saves before entering each major area. Without chapter select, you cannot reload old progress easily.
ARK safe clues often appear after you have already passed the safes themselves, so backtracking to open them means dealing with Lickers and zombies again. Clear threats first before heading back.
Complete Leon’s Attic Storage section early. If you miss the Basement file during his segment, Grace will have no way to access that combination independently.
