Konami has confirmed that Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will debut its long-awaited online multiplayer mode, Fox Hunt, on October 29, 2025 at 9:00 p.m. PT / October 30, 2025 at 12:00 a.m. ET. The rollout will be simultaneous across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, marking a new chapter for one of gaming’s most iconic stealth franchises.

Like a covert operation unfolding across time zones, Fox Hunt will unlock at different hours worldwide. Players in North and South America will join the fray on the evening of October 29, while operatives in Europe, Asia, and Japan will step into the jungle the following morning.

A Stealth Experience Reinvented

Fox Hunt is not just another multiplayer mode—it is Konami’s attempt to bottle the essence of Metal Gear: patience, cunning, and the thrill of outwitting an unseen opponent. Inspired by the celebrated “Sneaking Rule” from Metal Gear Online, the mode is built around stealth and survival rather than sheer firepower.

Up to 12 players, divided into pairs, will clash in environments designed to test both nerves and reflexes. Each match plays out in one of three fields, including a dense jungle where every leaf could hide an enemy—or a way out. Two mission types are selected at random, ensuring no two encounters are ever quite the same.

Tools of the Hunt

Konami has highlighted two signature mechanics that define the Fox Hunt experience:

  • AT-Camo Suit – An adaptive camouflage system that lets players alter their appearance instantly, blending into surroundings or setting up ambushes with chameleon-like precision.
  • Naked Sense – A heightened awareness mode that reveals nearby enemies and supplies. But there’s a cost: stamina drains quickly, and opponents are warned when it’s in use. The very act of searching can give you away.

These features combine to create a cat-and-mouse dynamic where survival hinges on discipline, deception, and timing.

Survival Without Shortcuts

In an era where multiplayer often comes tethered to microtransactions, Konami has made it clear: Fox Hunt will not include monetized add-ons. Progression will be earned, not bought, leaving players to rely on skill rather than their wallets.

A Timely Reinforcement

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater has already proven its strength. The game sold over one million copies shortly after launch and reached a peak of 20,000 concurrent players on Steam. For many, Fox Hunt could be the reason to return—or the push needed to join the battlefield for the first time.

Back to the Jungle

First revealed at the PlayStation Showcase 2023, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a modern remake of the 2004 classic, rebuilt with cutting-edge graphics and immersive 3D audio. While the story remains a Cold War-era tale of espionage and survival, the remake’s fresh mechanics and polish invite both veterans and newcomers into its world.

On October 30, Fox Hunt will test whether players can embody the series’ timeless mantra: survive by stealth, succeed by strategy.
