If you have spotted a Daily Challenge asking you to gather Mysterious Feathers in Pokémon Pokopia and are not quite sure where to start, you are in the right place. Mysterious Feathers come in two varieties, Rainbow Feathers and Silver Feathers, and both are dropped by legendary Pokémon that fly across the sky during your playthrough. Collecting them is straightforward once you know what to look for, and they turn out to be more useful than just ticking off a daily task. Here is everything you need to know about finding and using Mysterious Feathers in Pokémon Pokopia.

What Are Mysterious Feathers in Pokémon Pokopia?

Mysterious Feathers is the collective term for two types of feathers you can collect in Pokémon Pokopia: Rainbow Feathers and Silver Feathers. Each type comes from a different legendary Pokémon and requires a different method to collect.

How to Get Mysterious Feathers

Over the course of the game, Ho-Oh and Lugia will occasionally fly across the sky. Each time this happens, there is a chance that one of them will drop a Mysterious Feather. You will know when this is occurring because you will hear one of them roar, and if the sky is clear, you may even be able to spot the legendary Pokémon flying overhead.

However, the way you find and collect each feather type differs depending on which legendary dropped it.

How to Collect Rainbow Feathers

Rainbow Feathers are dropped by Ho-Oh. When one lands, you will notice smoke rising up into the sky from somewhere on the map. Use that smoke as a marker to track down the feather’s location. Once you arrive at the spot, you will find the feather surrounded by flames. Use Water Gun to put out the fire, and then collect your Rainbow Feather.

Step-by-step:

  1. Listen for Ho-Oh’s roar to know a feather has been dropped
  2. Look for smoke rising into the sky to find the landing location
  3. Head to the smoke
  4. Use Water Gun to extinguish the flames
  5. Collect the Rainbow Feather

How to Collect Silver Feathers

Silver Feathers are dropped by Lugia. When one lands, you will see a tornado spiralling up into the air from its location on the map. Head towards the tornado and use Cut on it before attempting to pick up the feather. Importantly, if you try to collect the feather without using Cut first, you will not be able to grab it, so make sure you use Cut before reaching for the pick-up.

  3. Head to the tornado
  4. Use Cut on the tornado
  5. Collect the Silver Feather

Daily Challenge: Gather Mysterious Feathers

“Gather Mysterious Feathers” is one of the most common recurring Daily Challenges in Pokémon Pokopia. You only need to collect one Mysterious Feather to complete it, and doing so rewards you with 200 Coins. You can then spend those coins on furniture, habitat hints, bag expansion upgrades, and more.

One important thing to note: although the Daily Challenge icon displays a Rainbow Feather, collecting a Silver Feather will complete the challenge just as well.

Gimmighoul Exchange in Rocky Ridges

The second use for Mysterious Feathers becomes available once you reach Rocky Ridges and locate the remains of the museum in the northern section of the map. Reaching it requires travelling through the mines in Rocky Ridges, though the museum building itself is quite hard to miss.

Once inside, you will meet Gimmighoul, who will first ask you to bring it a Rainbow Feather. After completing that initial request, you can exchange Rainbow Feathers, Silver Feathers, and appraised Lost Relics with Gimmighoul in return for furniture items. The furniture you receive appears to be selected randomly, so you may want to keep a steady supply of feathers to trade over time.

Key Takeaways

  • Mysterious Feathers refers to both Rainbow Feathers (dropped by Ho-Oh) and Silver Feathers (dropped by Lugia)
  • Listen for a legendary roar to know a feather has landed somewhere on the map
  • Rainbow Feathers land with flames; use Water Gun to collect them
  • Silver Feathers land with a tornado; use Cut on the tornado before collecting them
  • Collecting any Mysterious Feather completes the “Gather Mysterious Feathers” Daily Challenge and earns 200 Coins
  • Either feather type completes the Daily Challenge, even though the icon shows a Rainbow Feather
  • Once you reach Rocky Ridges, trade feathers and appraised Lost Relics with Gimmighoul at the museum for furniture rewards
