⚠️ Spoiler Warning: This guide contains mild spoilers for the end of Pokémon Pokopia’s main story.
Magnemite is one of the most rewarding Pokémon to unlock in Pokémon Pokopia, but you will not find it wandering around in the early hours. It is a post-game Pokémon, meaning you need to roll the credits on the main story before it appears. The good news is that once you do find it, Magnemite teaches Ditto the Magnet Rise transformation, widely considered the best building ability in the entire game. Here is everything you need to know.

When Can You Get Magnemite?
Magnemite only appears in Pokémon Pokopia after you complete the main story and roll the credits. It does not spawn anywhere in the game world before this point, so there is no shortcut. If you have not finished the story yet, this one is worth saving for later.
However, that wait is absolutely worth it, because Magnemite unlocks Magnet Rise, the final transformation slot on Ditto’s skill wheel. Many players notice the empty slot long before they can fill it, and Magnemite is the answer.
Where to Find Magnemite
Once the credits finish and you load back into the world, Ditto returns to the spot where the mysterious tower used to stand in Withered Wasteland. The tower is now gone, and in its place is a large hole in the ground.

Drop down into that gap and you will find Magnemite waiting at the bottom. You may have explored this underground area earlier by entering from the ocean side of the metal structure, but after completing the story, Magnemite now appears there for the first time. Speak to Magnemite to start their “Help Make Me a Home!” request and kick off the process.
How to Build Magnemite’s Habitat
To complete Magnemite’s request, you need to build the Factory Storage Habitat. Here are all four items required:
| Item | Quantity | Where to Find |
| Jumbled Cords | x1 | Found near where the quest begins |
| Metal Drum | x1 | Found near where the quest begins |
| Streetlight (any type) | x1 | Craft any variant, including a Mushroom Lamp |
| Control Unit | x1 | Sparkling Skylands, northeast island (ruined offices area) |
The Jumbled Cords and Metal Drum are conveniently located right near the spot where you start the quest, so you can pick both up immediately. For the Streetlight, any type works, and many players simply craft a Mushroom Lamp since it is easy to make and does not require electricity. The only item that needs a short trip is the Control Unit, which you can find in Sparkling Skylands on the northeast island filled with ruined buildings and offices.

Once you have all four items, place the Factory Storage Habitat anywhere in the Withered Wasteland and speak to Magnemite again to complete the request. Magnemite will then move into the habitat and teach Ditto the Magnet Rise transformation as a reward.
What Does Magnet Rise Do?
Magnet Rise transforms Ditto into Magnemite and gives you a completely different way to interact with the world. It is essentially a dedicated Build Mode that makes construction significantly faster and more flexible than anything available earlier in the game.
Here is what Magnet Rise lets you do:
- Float freely in all directions, including up, down, left, and right
- Place blocks, furniture, and structures much faster than normal Ditto
- Absorb certain blocks and materials that could not be picked up before
- Reposition objects and replace blocks quickly without jumping around
- Strafe across large construction areas while building without losing your footing

Because of all these advantages, Magnet Rise is the best building ability in Pokémon Pokopia and transforms how you approach decorating habitats, building houses, and shaping your island. This is also why experienced players strongly recommend saving your larger build projects until after you roll the credits and unlock this transformation first.
Magnemite’s Specialty and Ideal Habitat
Once Magnemite moves in, it becomes a useful permanent resident thanks to its Generate Specialty. Pokémon with Generate will automatically power nearby machines in their free time, making Magnemite a handy companion for any area with electrical items that need a consistent power source.
Magnemite’s Ideal Habitat Conditions
| Condition | Detail |
| Ideal Habitat | Factory Storage |
| Habitat Brightness | Bright |
| Time of Day | Dawn, Day, Dusk, Night |
| Weather | Sunny, Cloudy, Rainy |
What Magnemite Likes
To increase Magnemite’s Comfort Level, place items near its habitat that match its preferences. Magnemite’s confirmed favourite things include:
- Electronics
- Metal items
- Shiny objects
- Hard materials
- Group activities
- Bitter flavours
Gifting Magnemite food or items that match these preferences, particularly anything with a Bitter flavour, will boost its Comfort Level faster than generic gifts.
Key Tips
- Do not rush the story just for Magnemite. It appears naturally after you complete all the main Important Requests and roll credits, so focus on finishing the story at your own pace.
- Save large building projects for after Magnet Rise. Floating around with full directional control makes complex builds far easier and quicker than anything possible beforehand.
- Grab the Jumbled Cords and Metal Drum immediately. Both are right next to where you find Magnemite, so you can collect them before you even start travelling for the Control Unit.
- Any Streetlight works. A Mushroom Lamp is the easiest option since it requires no electricity and basic materials.
- The Control Unit is in Sparkling Skylands. Head to the northeast island with the ruined office buildings and take one from the structures there.
