Terraria 1.4.5 expanded its world with crossover content from Dead Cells, and the Flint stands out as one of the most distinctive additions. It blends familiar Terraria progression with a combat style that feels deliberate and grounded. Getting it does not rely on luck or vendors. You earn it through crafting, once you reach the right stage of the game.
What Is the Flint in Terraria?
The Flint is a Hardmode melee weapon introduced in version 1.4.5. It deals 73 base melee damage and uses a very fast attack speed. While it is classified as a melee weapon, its behavior sets it apart from standard swords.
The Flint offers two attack styles. A quick click produces a normal strike. Holding the attack button charges the weapon, then releases a wave of fire that spreads along the ground and can hit multiple enemies at once.
Its tooltip references a fallen prison warden from Dead Cells, reinforcing its crossover identity while still fitting cleanly into Terraria’s combat system.
Materials Required to Craft the Flint
To craft the Flint, you must gather the following materials:
- 24 Adamantite Bars or Titanium Bars
- 20 Hellstone Bars
Both bar types reflect their position in early to mid Hardmode progression. You can choose Adamantite or Titanium based on which ore your world generates.

Required Crafting Station
You must use a Hardmode Forge to craft the Flint.
This means one of the following:
- Adamantite Forge
- Titanium Forge
As long as you use one of these forges and have the required materials, the recipe becomes available.
Crafting the Flint Step by Step
Once you collect the bars and access the correct forge, the process stays simple.
Open the crafting menu while standing near your Adamantite Forge or Titanium Forge. Select the Flint recipe, confirm the craft, and the weapon becomes yours immediately.
Weapon Stats and Handling
The Flint deals 73 melee damage with average knockback rated at 5. It has a 6 percent critical strike chance, a very fast use time of 15, and projectile velocity of 4.
Holding the attack key charges the weapon before releasing a fire wave. That fire travels along the ground, platforms, or similar surfaces, making positioning important.

- The weapon carries Light Red rarity, rarity level 4.
- You can sell it for 4 gold, and research requires one copy.
